‘You will be cancelled in society altogether’: Hannity vs Hayes … you decide

Right v. Left was on full display Friday night as Fox News host Sean Hannity slammed President Joe Biden’s draconian vaccine mandate while MSNBC host Chris Hayes viciously attacked Republicans whom he claimed were getting Americans killed because they were resisting it.

Hannity kicked off by saying that Biden wanted “to lecture Americans and scold Americans and tell them how bad they are and how they should be hated and gave license to attacks on people that have different views or medical conditions you might not even know about.”

“But you better get the vaccine or Dr. Joe Biden is going to unleash the full force of the federal government against you,’ he added. “And your loved ones and your employer. And you will be canceled in society altogether. You’ll be shut out of everything.”

Hannity discussed having natural immunity to COVID if you’ve already contracted it. He also remarked, “It doesn’t matter if you prefer to keep your medical decisions private,” in reference to Americans being forced to show proof of vaccination.

He asserted that Biden was “mentally incompetent” and pointed out that the requirements are “deeply unconstitutional.” Hannity went on to blast Biden for treating unvaccinated Americans like a “political scapegoat” and making the unvaccinated the enemy during his monologue as well.

“In fact, Democrats say nicer things about illegal immigrants and even the Taliban, some of them, than the 80 million unvaccinated Americans,” Hannity asserted, referring to the Biden administration’s comments that the Taliban is “businesslike and professional.”

“Individual freedom, liberty is a precious right in this country,” he concluded. “Once you lose it, it will be gone forever.”

MSNBC’s “All In” host Chris Hayes tore into Republicans on his show for taking a stance against Biden’s federal vaccine mandate. He was incensed that they would object to having businesses with more than 100 employees being forced to get them vaccinated or conduct weekly testing. Each violation could cost almost $14,000.

Hayes called Republicans “the faction on the side of the virus.” He also stated that Republicans “are reacting with histrionics and tantrums.”

The MSNBC host took direct aim at conservative governors in South Carolina and Tennessee.

Gov. Bill Lee in Tennessee tweeted, “The Constitution won’t allow this power grab, and in the meantime, I will stand up for all Tennesseans,” and that enraged Hayes.

“In that state, the governor says he will stand up for the Tennesseans by fighting for the mandate,” Hayes said. “It’s too late for him to stand up for the ones that have died.”

Then he played a clip of Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) who slammed Biden’s policies. Ernst made the comments on “America Reports,” which was hosted by John Roberts and Sandra Smith.

“They are leading by coercion,” Ernst stated, “and I would agree with the point that’s being made by so many of our colleagues that this is a diversion away from 9/11, and away from the 20th anniversary, and away from the debacle that was his Afghanistan withdrawal.”

“That is such a revealing thing to say,” Hayes sneered. “A diversion. COVID is an abstraction. A political game.”

“Fifteen hundred people died today! Americans. Like the Americans we lost on 9/11, like those brave service members we lost in Afghanistan. Today. Tomorrow. On the one hand, these are just ridiculous theatrics but they’re ridiculous theatrics that are getting people killed and have been getting people killed for the past 18 months,” Hayes railed.

“If there’s one thing I still – and you can probably tell – cannot abide, cannot acclimate myself, cannot come to accept after a year and a half, it is the despicable glibness with which these people treat this stalking tragedy in our lives as some point-scoring opportunity, as some dumb rhetorical game for their Facebook posts,” he raged.

Hayes then remarked, “Something is deeply broken with them.”

The responses from Hannity on the right and Hayes on the left underscore the deep political and cultural division in the United States that Biden has seemingly stoked over the pandemic, Afghanistan, and a myriad of other issues while he has been in office.
