‘That would be curtains’: Chris Wallace predicts the event that would end the Biden presidency

With only two weeks until the 20th anniversary of the most deadly terrorist attack ever carried out on American soil, there are questions as to whether President Joe Biden’s inept handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan will lay the groundwork for another.

On Friday, Fox News anchor Chris Wallace joined other members of the media who weighed in after a devastating suicide bombing cut short the lives of 13 American military members who were among at least 170 victims of the blast outside of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul.

During a discussion on “America’s Newsroom,” Wallace lamented the administration’s failure to pull off an evacuation that has been beset by problems due to bureaucratic bumbling as well as the critical mistake by top officials including the POTUS of underestimating the resolve of the conquering Taliban without the loss of lives.

A somber Wallace expressed his view that the humiliating end to the nation’s longest war and Thursday’s carnage has severely diminished America in terms of stemming the tide of Islamic terrorism. “We are so diminished in our ability to deal with all the jihadists that are going to come into that part of the world, into Afghanistan, and that’s going to raise real questions,” he said.

Then, in perhaps the strongest comments yet from a prominent media figure, he predicted that it would be curtains for Biden if the surrender to the Taliban led to a terrorist attack on the U.S. and if Afghanistan once again served as a training ground for murderous zealots as it did for 9/11.

“As bad as yesterday was, the president can come back from that, but if there is an attack on the U.S. Homeland from Afghanistan after the withdrawal of all of our troops, that could be curtains for the Biden presidency,” Wallace said.

Considering the source, the remarks should serve as an attention-getter for Biden who was aided greatly by the work of Wallace as the moderator for his debate against then-President Donald J. Trump when the newsman repeatedly intervened at key junctures to throw a lifeline to the flailing Democrat.

Quite frankly, it was a shocking statement coming from Wallace who has consistently white-knighted for Biden and one wonders whether it could be a sign of deeper sentiment in a media that may have been shaken out of its trance by the scale of the historic humiliation in Afghanistan, one that has now turned bloody.

But would the media really hold Biden responsible if terrorists attack Americans in a 9/11 sequel?

The idea that a dishonest activist media would blame Biden flies in the face of years of evidence to the contrary where Democrats have not been made to account for their failures nor for their corruption.

Nobody went to jail for Russiagate and the intelligence community’s sabotage of Trump’s presidency nor was there any accountability for former President Barack Obama’s domestic surveillance programs against ordinary Americans, let alone the use of the nation’s mighty anti-terrorist spying apparatus for political means.

There was also Benghazi, Hillary Clinton’s private server and missing emails, and numerous other Obama scandals, all of which were aided and abetted by the media. So the idea that they wouldn’t rally around Biden if America is struck again makes Wallace’s remarks all the more stunning.

The sad fact of the matter is that Biden has done everything possible since he took up residence in the White House to make the possibility of another 9/11 much, much easier.

Whether it be the abandonment of Afghanistan, leaving behind sophisticated military equipment for the Taliban and their allies, or the redirection of federal intelligence and law enforcement agencies for the purpose of waging a new domestic “war on terror” against the political opposition instead of the real terrorists, America is in more danger now than ever.

While it remains to be seen whether such an attack would lead to the friendly media turning on Biden, Wallace’s peculiar prediction indicates that it is a possibility.
