‘How can they stand and lie on this scale?’: Lara Logan lashes out at Biden administration

Lara Logan put pressure on the Biden Administration this week for allowing the crisis in Afghanistan without employing the means available and necessary to keep Americans and Afghan allies safe.

“How can they stand and lie on this scale?” Logan, appearing on Fox News’s “Hannity,” asked rhetorically, after host Sean Hannity pointed to a report that the Taliban immediately released “thousands” of terrorist prisoners the minute they took power in the Middle Eastern country.

“It’s just extraordinary,” Logan continued. “If you’re designated as a terrorist organization, you move your people to the Taliban. Because they’re not designated.”

She also spoke out on social media, asserting that the situation in Afghanistan was “completely avoidable” and questioned why the Biden Administration continues to avoid using the capability and power at its disposal to keep American service members and their Afghan allies safe.

Logan explained to Hannity that there is little distinction between groups like the Taliban, al-Qaida, and ISIS and that any perceived differences amount to little more than internal power struggles between the groups because they are all interrelated.

In an opinion shared on social media, she shamed the Biden administration, calling them “the most evil people on earth.”

“Only the most evil people on earth would do this. It is unforgivable to deliver your allies to your enemies. There is a special place in hell for these people & make no mistake, they knew what they were doing,” she tweeted.

Logan recalled an interview with the acting president of Afghanistan and explained that when the authorities in Afghanistan pick up prisoners and interrogate them, “they find that today they’re ISIS, two weeks ago al-Qaida. It’s sort of an ongoing circle. There’s not a counter-terrorism expert that will tell you anything else with a straight face.”

Hannity asked Logan to explain what she foresaw for the future.

“The United States needs to recognize the Afghan president and our allies who are fighting,” Fox Nation host Logan said. “The United States also needs to do what they should have done a long time ago and declare the Taliban a foreign terrorist organization, which they are. We also need to get humanitarian supplies into the Panjshir Valley to help these people and plus Congress needs to act. Congress and leaders on both sides of the aisle. This is a Republican-Democrat problem, because American weakness is a problem for every American. They need to act to pass laws to make it illegal for anyone to give assistance to the Taliban because they are a terrorist regime.”

“A disaster and it’s going to get worse. I pray to God I’m wrong,” Hannity responded.
