‘Eyes up here, Matt’: Kristi Noem confronts Matt Walsh for ‘horrible misogyny’-takes it to his boss, Ben Shapiro

Conservative podcaster Matt Walsh tore into Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) for refusing to ban vaccine mandates, claiming that she got where she is in politics because of her good looks and, in turn, Noem accused him of “horrible misogyny.”

The heated back and forth took place on Twitter Wednesday after Walsh aired a podcast that attacked Noem over her attractiveness. “Kristi Noem’s a very attractive woman,” Walsh stated. “So, she’s got that going for her. As far as I can tell, that’s the only reason for why she was ever looked at as some sort of 2024 potential frontrunner.”

“The hype and everything that she’s gotten from conservative media is entirely based on the fact that she’s an extremely attractive woman,” he posited. “Which she is. But you put 50 pounds on her and another 20 years and I don’t think she gets any of the hype.”

“Instead of engaging in a debate about the proper role of government and how it isn’t conservative to tell people how to do business, @MattWalshBlog stooped to horrible misogyny,” Noem tweeted. “Eyes up here, Matt.”

The testy exchange resulted from Noem asserting she did not have the power to order private businesses to ban vaccine mandates.

“I don’t have the authority as governor to tell [businesses] what to do,” Noem declared on Tuesday. “Since the start of this pandemic, I have remained focused on what my authorities are and what they are not. Now South Dakota is in a strong position because I didn’t overstep my authority. I didn’t trample on the rights of our people, and I’m not going to start now.”

After Noem accused Walsh of misogyny, Walsh responded on Twitter: “Kristi Noem is angrily tweeting about me because I criticized her. Meanwhile she bows to the Chamber of Commerce, corporate interests, and the LGBT lobby. She’d rather fight with a right wing podcast host. Tells you everything you need to know about her.”

Noem then took it up the food chain to Walsh’s boss, Ben Shapiro, going after his anatomy since he attacked her looks: “Hey @benshapiro tell @MattWalshBlog I was roping bulls ( maybe he’s a steer?) bigger than him when I was in in my teens. He couldn’t walk a day in my shoes.”

Walsh ridiculed the tweet and Noem for running to Shapiro, “Lol now she’s telling on me to my boss.”

Following Noem’s tweets, Walsh clapped back at her for trotting out “the lame ‘misogyny’ line.”

He wasn’t quite finished either. Walsh also tweeted, “One other note here: Kristi pulled this clip from Media Matters. She is using Media Matters to hit conservatives. Also, she cropped the clip to leave out the part where I explain why I’m criticizing her.”

Then, Walsh admitted he had given some thought to what he’d said about Noem.

“I said that Kristi Noem only gets hype because she’s attractive. Lots of people, including Kristi, were offended by these remarks,” he wrote. “I’ve had a chance to reflect on this and after much thought I just want to say I’m deeply sorry that you’re all a bunch of ridiculous, whiney babies.”

That ended the battle between the two for the moment but it was only the beginning of what everyone else thought on social media:
