‘No way’ Britain agrees to another joint US military op with Biden-Harris admin in charge, Farage says

British broadcaster Nigel Farage, the former head of the United Kingdom’s UK Independence Party who led the “Brexit” movement, railed at the Biden White House on Wednesday over the chaotic pullout from Afghanistan, suggesting at one point that his country wouldn’t cooperate militarily with the current administration.

In a segment for “Fox & Friends,” Farage said President Joe Biden didn’t consult with Britain or any other NATO country before deciding to withdraw from the country in April, which led to the current frenetic attempt by the U.S. and its allies to get their citizens out before the Aug. 31 deadline that the president said he was determined to keep no matter what.

As such — and as British and American citizens remain under threat of being left behind once that deadline passes on Tuesday — he didn’t see any way that the British parliament would agree to another joint military operation with the U.S. under Biden or a potential President Kamala Harris should the need arise again if new terrorist attacks stemming from Afghanistan and beyond begin anew after the pullout.

“The whole of the G7, begging Joe Biden to extend the deadline, but no, no, no, because the Taliban and ISIS threatened an American president and he’s decided to dance to their tune,” Farage said in response.

“The medium-term problem is the resurgence of international terror,” he added. “Already, evidence that extremist jihadi groups all over the world have taken great cheer from what the Taliban have done in Afghanistan.

“And so if we do find ourselves back engaged — and let’s be honest, the last few years, we’ve not seen major terrorist atrocities in the West, and if they start to happen again, we start to think, well, how do we go out again and try and stop these cells that are spreading international terror, how can we do it with the Americans?” Farage continued.

“How can we do it with an ally that has treated us with contempt and betrayed us and into the bargain, many of our own citizens?” he said. “Certainly if it’s a Biden or Harris administration, honestly, there is no way, there is no way a British parliament right now would vote the military cooperation with America led by this administration.

“And that’s a very sad thing to say because, since 1917, the UK and America have been side by side in virtually every major conflict,” the Brexit leader added. “We’ve been the closest allies in terms of military action, in terms of intelligence sharing, in terms of culture, in terms of business.

“You couldn’t have a better ally than us but at the moment — I’m sorry — there’s no way we could enter into another operation with you,” Farage concluded.

Biden has continued to insist on keeping the Aug. 31 deadline though he has been pressured by members of Congress, world leaders, and allies to extend it.

“The sooner we can finish, the better,” he said Tuesday of the still-unfolding operation to evacuate Americans, Afghan nationals, and U.S. troops from the capital of Kabul, which is controlled by the Taliban.

“Each day of operations brings added risk to our troops.”

U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, called out the president for the arbitrary deadline.

“The American people have to ask themselves: who is in charge, Joe Biden or the Taliban? Instead of owning the mantle of commander-in-chief and adequately responding to changing events on the ground in Afghanistan, President Biden continues to focus on a self-congratulatory press release and may have now damned all American citizens and our allies who remain in the country after Biden retreats,” the Republican said in a statement Tuesday. “This is humiliating for the United States and our allies. And it’s weak. We have a duty to ensure every American is evacuated safely.”
