Taliban leader ‘Baradar the Butcher’ lands in Kabul, allegedly eyeing presidency

Taliban leader and co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, known as “Baradar the Butcher,” arrived in Kabul on Saturday to begin talks that will focus on setting up a new Afghan government.

Baradar will meet battlefield commanders, former government leaders, and policy-makers, as well as religious scholars, a Taliban official told Agence France-Presse.

The terrorist leader was arrested in Pakistan in 2010 but was never handed over to the U.S. He was reportedly kept in Pakistan, residing in an official “guest room” of the government before he was transported in 2018 to Qatar at the request of former President Trump so he could lead talks that would potentially result in an eventual U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. It’s now rumored that Baradar is coveting the presidency of Afghanistan.

He is the only Taliban leader left standing who was selected and groomed by Taliban commander Mullah Mohammed Omar. Baradar is revered by the Taliban and received a hero’s welcome as he arrived in Kabul on Saturday to begin talks to set up a new Afghan government, according to Reuters.

The Taliban leader was mobbed when he arrived by Qatari government aircraft on Tuesday in Kandahar, which is the spiritual home and birthplace of the Taliban. He helped start the terrorist group in 1994. Footage that was released by pro-Taliban media showed crowds gathering around Mullah Baradar at the airport, pumping their fists in the air and chanting “Allahu Akbar!” or “God is great!” in celebration. He fled Afghanistan soon after the U.S. invasion in 2001.

He may have had a seat for months at the negotiations table in Qatar, but Baradar is notoriously brutal and a stone-cold terrorist.

Baradar became infamous for some of the Taliban’s most deadly tactics. Those included planting improvised explosive devices along streets for their enemies to unwittingly trip over, calling the IEDs “flowers,” a Times of London profile revealed.

“He will be in Kabul to meet jihadi leaders and politicians for an inclusive government set-up,” a senior Taliban official informed the AFP.

A Taliban official also told Reuters that the group of Islamic leaders involved in the talks would form a governing structure framework within a few weeks. Others will address issues such as finances and internal security.

The official asserted that the framework “will protect everyone’s rights” but admitted it would not be a democracy by Western standards. It will adhere to Sharia law.

The Taliban claim they are seeking an “inclusive, Islamic” government and that they have become more moderate since they last held power. They are also claiming they are offering full amnesty to those who worked for the U.S. and the Western-backed government.

Most have severe doubts over that claim and it is being reported that the Taliban are going door-to-door to find those who supported the U.S. and NATO and are summarily executing them. They are also allegedly killing Christians and converts (apostates).

Part of that inclusion seems to include other senior Taliban leaders who have been seen in the capital in recent days, including Khalil Haqqani. He is one of America’s “most-wanted terrorists” with a $5 million bounty on his head.

Baradar feigned surprise in his initial comments, saying that “it was never expected that we will have victory in Afghanistan.”

“Now comes the test,” he proclaimed. “We must meet the challenge of serving and securing our nation, and giving it a stable life going forward.” That “life” experts contend is linked to al Qaeda and those who attacked the United States on 9/11 where nearly 3,000 Americans perished.

From prison to negotiations, to the presidency… Baradar is poised to become one of the largest terrorist figures on the planet once again due to Biden’s Afghanistan debacle. The talks are in stark contrast to a week ago when the Taliban had not yet captured Kabul. In just over a week, the insurgent group has shockingly taken over Afghanistan following Biden’s withdrawal of U.S. troops.
