Democrats, the Centers for Disease Control and the Biden administration’s strategy of completely shutting down any questions regarding the vaccine’s safety and efficacy while admonishing the questioner as an “anti-vaxxer” may backfire as CDC Director Rochelle Walensky now tries to convince Americans that they need a third shot.
The Biden administration announced the booster shot initiative on Wednesday at a press conference, and well aware of the hurdles they face with the coronavirus booster shot, Walensky’s strategy was to fear monger.
“To be clear, our top priority is to save lives and prevent severe infections. The data we will publish today and next week demonstrate the vaccine effectiveness against SARS Covid 2 infection is waning,” the CDC director began.
Walensky claimed that while the vaccine works well to prevent hospitalizations, the CDC is “seeing concerning evidence of waning vaccine effectiveness over time and against the delta variant.” She cited reports of international colleagues, including Israel “suggest increased risk of severe disease amongst those vaccinated early.”
Fear not, the same people who tried to sell Americans immunity through a jab and promised to hand back the freedoms they impeded on have a plan, and they’re not leaving much room for personal choice.
“In the context of these concerns, we are planning for Americans to receive booster shots starting next month to maximize vaccine induced protection. Our plan is to protect the American people and to stay ahead of this virus,” Walensky shared.
While some Americans may be gung-ho to receive the experimental booster shot, many more are tired of the hypocrisy and platitudes from a government so willing to freely impede Americans’ freedoms and personal decisions despite the long-term uncertainty that surrounds their solutions.
The CDC director appears to all but admit that the vaccine’s efficacy rate has a strict time limit, and its protections are limited in the ever-changing environment.
“Given this body of evidence, we are concerned that the current strong protection against severe infection, hospitalization and death could decrease in the months ahead. Especially among those who are higher risk or those who were vaccinated earlier during the phases of our vaccination roll out,” Walensky explained.
The CDC couldn’t help but emphasize that “our vaccines continue to offer the best protection against severe Covid illness.”
If that were the case, then why are those who complied (some, albeit begrudgingly) with the promise of a return to normalcy now being forced to mask up and resume precautions that were previously reserved for the unvaccinated?
Perhaps it was never really about getting vaccinated at all.
The Biden administration and CDC continue to test how far they can encroach on Americans’ freedoms before they submit.
“While we are still learning about how these vaccines perform over time and how long they will last against new variants, one thing is very clear– getting vaccinated can keep you out of the hospital, getting vaccinated can save your life. In areas with low vaccination coverage, we continue to hear far too many heartbreaking stories of people who did not get vaccinated only then to get severe Covid. In these areas, the data are showing us that more people who are in the hospital and tragically more people are dying of Covid-19. We are currently averaging over 500 Covid-19 deaths per day. These remain largely preventable. If you are still unvaccinated, please get vaccinated. The single best action you can take to protect yourself and others is to simply get vaccinated in the first place,” Walensky pleaded.
While the vaccine does remain the best defense against the virus for most Americans, everyone should have a right to choose what is best for them.
Starting September 20, Americans who completed their two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least eight months ago will be eligible for a booster shot.
The goalposts back to a “normal” society continue to be moved further and further. When will Americans, especially those who complied with initial vaccinations, have had enough?
