Ex-teammate dishes on how Megan Rapinoe would ‘almost bully’ players to take a knee

Odd how it always seems to work out that the most outspoken on the left often end up being authoritarian jerks — nowhere is this more apparent than with Antifa, the “antifascist” group that is full of violent fascists.

Another example may include U.S. women’s national soccer player Megan Rapinoe.

Hope Solo, a former player on the U.S. women’s national soccer team who last played in 2016, said she witnessed then-teammate Rapinoe “almost bully” other players into kneeling for the national anthem.

The Trump-hating Rapinoe became a media darling for kneeling before matches and for dumping on former President Donald Trump, being sufficiently rewarded for such behavior with a lucrative endorsement deal with Subway and Victoria’s Secret.

“I’ve seen Megan Rapinoe almost bully players into kneeling because she really wants to stand up for something in her particular way, but it’s our right as Americans to do it in whatever way we’re comfortable with,” Solo said last week while appearing on the podcast “All of US: The U.S. Women’s Soccer Show.

A former goalie, Solo described kneeling before games as “very divisive.”

“I do appreciate the fact that there’s no national anthem right before the game. To really remove that decision from athletes. Because that’s very tough, it’s tough,” she said.

With all the pressure to perform well, Solo said many players feel they are “carrying the world on their back” and don’t need additional burdens placed on them.

“I think that’s really hard being on the main stage right now with so many political issues for athletes,” she said. “There’s a lot of pressure, and ultimately at the end of the day, our number one focus should and has always been to win first.”

Rapinoe supporters on the left were quick to point out online that Solo left the team in 2016, less than two weeks before Rapinoe joined Colin Kaepernick in kneeling for the anthem. Solo did not offer any details of when she may have seen the alleged bullying.

It’s possible that Rapinoe was contemplating the action for some time before deciding to take a knee for the first time on Sept. 4, 2016, and may have been petitioning others to join her.

The Rapinoe-led U.S. Women’s soccer team was expected to dominate in the Tokyo Olympics, but was bumped from the gold-medal game by Canada and had to settle for a bronze medal instead.

Saying the loss “sucks,” Rapinoe dissed the Canucks: “So yeah, it’s a bitter one to swallow. Obviously, we never want to lose to Canada. I don’t think I’ve ever lost to Canada.”

Trump would jump on the opportunity to take a crack at the purple-haired Colin Kaepernick disciple.

“If our soccer team, headed by a group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze,” he said in a statement. “The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics instead of doing her job!”

As for the Subway deal, fed-up franchisees recently called on the company to nix the agreement with the left-wing player, complaining: “It gets tiring apologizing.”
