Devin Nunes fires back at Arnold’s assault on freedom: ‘Disastrous governor’ who led to GOP ‘demise’ in CA

Representative Devin Nunes (R-CA) returned fire on former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger after he insulted a large population of American’s this week regarding pandemic restrictions.

“I’m glad he’s gone,” said the central California representative on Sunday to host Brian Kilmeade on Fox News’ “Watters’ World.”

“He was a disastrous governor, unfortunately, and I think he led to the demise of the Republican Party here in California,” Nunes added.

Schwarzenegger appeared on CNN earlier this week to pronounce that Americans should be willing to concede their freedom, mask up and follow other COVID restrictions in the name of safety.

“Screw your freedom, because with freedom comes obligations and responsibilities,” the Austrian-born former governor said.

It was only a matter of days before the former so-called Republican governor was caught in the ultimate COVID-era act of hypocrisy: he was not wearing a mask himself.

Nunes, 47, also called out several other politicians including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and former President Barack Obama who have all thumbed their nose at COVID restrictions after preaching to the public about the importance of the mandates.

“No matter what Fauci and all these guys say, we’re getting a huge split in this country because it’s the saying of ‘do what I say, not what I do,’ and I think people have had enough of it,” Nunes said.

Nunes also criticized the hypocrisy of the Biden administration and said they are “wasting time” with the apparent open border policy where thousands of COVID-19 infected illegal immigrants are spewing over the border every day.

“None of this is making any sense, and I think the American people are starting to figure it out,” Nunes said, noting that his constituents are questioning the control tactics that are being pushed so hard, especially for those who have already had COVID.

The congressman also questioned the illogical Democrat politicians that have pushed draconian “face diaper” policies despite there being “no evidence that these work” to prevent the spread of the virus. He noted how particularly ineffective masks seem to be for kids with them “down off their chin” and “dirty.”

He expressed concern for the millions of Americans with triple masks on, driving around in their cars, “these people’s minds have been poisoned, it’s a sad state of affairs here.”

“This is only because of the leadership in this country that this is happening,” Nunes said. “Particularly the Democrats… it’s the blue states that are going nuts, and meanwhile, most of the red states have remained open this entire time.”

“Hygiene theater,” Kilmeade concurred, “that’s what it really is.”
