Frustration over the Biden administration’s open borders policy at a time when the nation is experiencing a dramatic rise in COVID cases has some GOP members of Congress looking to send a message to the White House.
One of them is U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs and the Arizona Republican has announced his intent to file articles of impeachment against Biden’s Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, a man who has failed miserably when it comes to doing his job and bears at least some responsibility for the raging Delta variant after “systematically releasing COVID-19 positive aliens into our communities,” according to Biggs.
As another one of the Obama regime retreads that have filled the upper ranks of Biden’s team, Mayorkas has spearheaded Democrat efforts to reverse all of former President Donald J. Trump’s tough immigration policies and has presided over a humanitarian crisis at the border as well as a public health catastrophe with virus-infected migrants being allowed to skip quarantine while being transported throughout the country.
Biggs made his big announcement via Twitter on Friday.

According to a press statement posted on Biggs’ website; “Secretary Mayorkas is a threat to the sovereignty and security of our nation. As a result of his actions and policies, America is more in danger today than when he began serving as Secretary. He is willfully refusing to maintain operational control of the border and is encouraging aliens to enter our country illegally. Under his direction, DHS is systematically releasing COVID-19 positive aliens into our communities, subjecting the American people to unnecessary and avoidable risks. Secretary Mayorkas is failing to faithfully uphold his oath of office and is presiding over a reckless abandonment of border security and immigration enforcement, at the expense of the U.S. Constitution and the security of the United States,” he said.
Rep. Biggs has been a frequent critic of the Biden administration, blasting “the big guy” as a “gutless coward” for forcing Americans to wear masks while allowing the border to be overrun by disease-carrying immigrants.

Biggs is not alone when it comes to congressional Republicans who have suggested such measures, Rep. Chip Roy on Texas took it one step further when he called for the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas AND Biden.

“Over the past several months, President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have blatantly and consistently refused to do their constitutional duty to take care that the immigration laws be faithfully executed, as required by Article II, endangering countless American and foreign lives in the process,” Roy said during an appearance on Fox News last week.
Rep. Anthony Sabatini of Florida is also onboard when it comes to impeachment.

While Biggs’ articles of impeachment are doomed to failure in a House controlled by Democrats where there is complete lockstep unity with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, he could draw much needed attention to Biden’s blatant hypocrisy on illegal immigration and COVID which would be a very good thing.
