‘She’s like an angry teenager’: ‘The Five’ shred MSNBC host for saying GOP owns closed schools

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace pointed her finger to the right as she tried to explain why kids might not be in school this fall, but “The Five” on Fox News snapped back with the real reason schools have been shuttered and what Republicans can do to prevent this kind of snafu in the future.

“I want to put a pin in the idea that Republicans will blame the Biden administration for not being in school. If kids aren’t in school, it’s because Republicans didn’t get vaccinated or governors stood in the way of mask mandates that would make it possible,” said the token Republican in a segment on left-leaning MSNBC.

“The Five” co-host Richard Fowler explained that in Chicago, the teachers’ union has indicated that the delta variant might keep kids out of school this fall and teachers are going door to door in areas with low vaccination rates to urge the families to get vaccinated.

“Any time you start blaming people for contracting an illness, there’s a lot of shaming that goes along with that. In San Francisco, they’ve got a high vaccination rate, but also have a surge of cases. Those are not Republicans,” co-host Shannon Bream said, destroying the credibility of Wallace’s comment. “This is going to get to people for various reasons, including vaccinated people as well.”

“My confusion is with the teachers union. They demanded to be at the front of the line for vaccinations,” Bream said, indicating that most people initially thought it was a good idea to help teachers and kids get back in school. “Now, teachers’ unions are coming out and saying, ‘you can’t mandate that teachers have to get vaccinated to go back.'”

After playfully mocking so-called conservative Wallace, co-host Greg Gutfeld responded, “I’m beginning to think her show is a cry for help. Every culprit in every segment is a Republican. The party that she belongs to.”

“It’s like she’s an angry teenager getting back at her parents by dating a drug dealer. In this case, it’s being the town mascot for left-wing masters at MSNBC,” he said jokingly.

But then Gutfeld continued on a more serious note, urging conservatives to use this as an opportunity to redefine and remake education. “Teachers’ unions have made it clear it’s not about kids, it’s about them.”

“Every Republican running for office has to make school choice their number one principle. If you solve that, if you solve education, you’re going to solve crime and racism, because it’s all bubbling out of that same mess, which we stupidly handed over to unions,” he added.

“We have allowed this decay and we’re letting these lunatics control this.” he contended, “Get rid of this crap.”

The school choice trend appears to be gaining traction. Bream pointed out that the Florida Board of Education was told that the money can move with the students and if parents want to take their kids out of schools, the money can follow the kids.

This is also the policy California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder is advocating for in the blue state where schools have been largely gridlocked by teachers’ unions over the past year.
