CNN will run a special on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after scandal-ridden anchor Chris Cuomo announced he is taking a “long-planned vacation” following his brother Governor Andrew Cuomo being slammed with sexual harassment allegations.
The announcement came on Friday that the network will plug Cuomo’s 9 p.m. slot with a gushing ode to the progressive ‘Squad’ member. They are scrambling to do damage control after the network allowed Chris Cuomo to give his embattled brother advice on the damning accusations against him.
The special is entitled, “Being… AOC.” It is the opening salvo in a new “Being” series conducted by anchor Dana Bash who “spends time with individuals affecting American policy, politics, and culture to give viewers an understanding of the human being behind the public face.”
“In the first episode, Bash speaks to Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, who gives one of her most personal on-camera interviews to date, opening up about her unique perspective on power and femininity, what drives her, and how threats against her and her previous experience with sexual assault impacted her perspective on January 6th,” a brief CNN press release glowingly stated.
Chris Cuomo not on tonight. Not uncommon for a August Friday. What’s noteworthy is that Cuomo is also preempted by an AOC doc on Monday. CNN still hasn’t commented publicly on the his involvement in advising his brother on smearing accusers behind sexual harassment allegations.

The development followed New York Attorney General Letitia James releasing a brutal report that detailed sexual harassment allegations against Gov. Cuomo by 11 women. The report also revealed that Chris Cuomo was involved in writing a statement responding to his brother’s accusers.
Evidently, CNN has been mulling Chris Cuomo taking a leave for some time. The New York Times reported on Wednesday that network executives suggested that he take a “temporary leave” in May after the news broke that the “Cuomo Prime Time” host had taken part in strategy sessions with his brother’s top aides to fight his accusers. It is being reported that Chris Cuomo nixed that suggestion at the time.

Now, Chris Cuomo is suddenly taking a “long-planned vacation” next week that coincides with his brother being pressured by both sides of the political aisle to either resign or be impeached. It would seem that he decided to get a head start as CNN weekend host Michael Smerconish filled his shoes as a guest host on “Cuomo Prime Time” Friday night.
The CNN host had noted that he would be on vacation for his birthday which is on Monday, telling his network colleague Don Lemon on his CNN podcast, “The Handoff,” Thursday that “Every year I take my birthday week off.”
“I’m looking forward to it,” he added.
Parts of the CNN AOC special have already been leaked to Project Veritas which has released pieces of it for public consumption. It is nothing short of a political propaganda piece meant to boost CNN’s dismal ratings.
“You’re now in your second term in the House, you have 12 million Twitter followers, nine million Instagram followers, and they all know you by three letters: AOC,” Bash stated in a compilation video. “So, what’s it like to be AOC?”
“When I was your age, I always tried to fit into the world as it is, not trying to change it. Where do you get that confidence?” Bash sickeningly pandered to the Squad member.
Bash’s adulation of the Democratic Socialist goes on and on and on: “Being Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez means being a celebrity and looking like one, red lips and all. She was featured on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine in 2020.”
“You sometimes take heat for your celebrity status for being glamorous. One thing that you said that really struck me is ‘femininity has power.’ she notes to Ocasio-Cortez and then adds, “You embrace the power.”
“And power can have red lips,” she declared.
Meanwhile, over at MSNBC, anchor Nicole Wallace who had previously fawned all over Governor Andrew Cuomo, praising him for his heroic handling of the pandemic, is distancing herself from the “Luv Gov.” She skipped a virtual press conference held by the attorneys for the disgraced governor.
People will watch this @NYGovCuomo presser when they study crisis leadership – especially his remarks about misinformation being more dangerous than the virus

Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC all carried the press conference live on Friday. Then Cuomo’s attorneys had some technical difficulties. Following that brief interruption, the presser resumed but MSNBC had notably dropped the coverage.
When Wallace came on at 4 p.m. ET, she carried on as usual bashing conservatives but there was not a word concerning Cuomo’s scandal. She attacked GOP Govs. Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis, while praising President Biden, but glaringly said nothing on the New York governor.
It appears that the liberal media and their talking heads are running for cover as the Cuomo scandal explodes.
CNN’s Ocasio-Cortez documentary and Chris Cuomo’s departure were noticed on social media:
