‘Pa-tree-archy’: TikTok video claims ‘botanical sexism’ is to blame for worsening allergies

In a viral TikTok video, a woman claims “botanical sexism” is to blame for worsening allergies.

Ellie Botoman, a 24-year-old from New York, posted a clip that has been viewed over 1.9 million times that one can only hope is a parody but still a comical representation of how young liberals think today.

The video depicts the young woman taking a sip out of her coffee trough before pausing as if she experienced divine inspiration.

“When you realize that allergies/asthma across North America got worse [because] landscapers and city planners thought male trees were easier to maintain,” she explained in the video’s caption.

“And [because] they planted so many male trees, those species now release tons of pollen each year to compete for a few females,” she continued.

“This lack of biodiversity and climate change fueling longer and earlier pollen seasons has caused allergies and asthma rates to accelerate,” she asserted.

“So you’re sneezing and congested all day because of botanical sexism.”

It makes complete sense as males have tried to spread their seed since biblical times.

Thomas Leo Ogren coined the hysterical term in 2015 in an op-ed for Scientific American after observing a growing trend of landscapers choosing male plants because they are “litter-free,” when compared to their “messy” female counterparts that shed seeds, fruits, or pods.

However, he appeared to assume the gender of the trees, which may identify as female. According to liberal standards, that is highly disrespectful to the trees.

The reactions were priceless.

One person hysterically commented, “patreearchy” and several questioned why men are always at the “root” of all problems.

“MEN LITERALLY RUIN EVERYTHING,” exclaimed another.

The “expert” has apparently researched the topic for over 30 years. He seems to have gotten his start by looking for pollen-free plants for his backyard to help lessen his wife’s allergies. His research led him to discover that male plants dominated his city.

“The problem is that while these [male] trees and plants are ‘litter-free,’ they all produce abundant allergenic pollen,” he explained.

He linked the shift to predominately male trees to the Dutch elm disease that wiped out millions of trees by the mid-1980s.

Unfortunately, there is no indication of the tree’s preferred pronouns.

“Almost all urban allergies now come directly from the planted landscape – they are homegrown,” he opined.

To assist in the fight against this hideously sexist practice, Ogren has been publishing the “Ogren Plan Allergy Scale “to assist various groups including cities and counties in selecting more female trees that produce fewer allergies.  However, he indicated that “commercial horticulture has been very resistant to any kind of allergy-potential labeling of plants sold in nurseries.”

TikTok has produced countless videos that highlight the ridiculousness of woke culture.  Recently, a woman in another video claimed that teaching classical music is a form of white supremacy.

“The fact that classical music, which is really the music of 18th century Western European straight white male composers, is valued as the highest form of art music in America, is an example of white supremacy,” she claimed.
