Charles Barkley goes there again with snarly ‘cougar’ comment about female boss

NBA legend Charles Barkley is at it again taking an unfiltered humorous swipe at his boss Tara August on TNT’s Inside the NBA, calling her a “cougar” and then laughing while snarling like a big cat and growling for effect.

During Saturday evening’s Eastern Conference Finals Game 6, legendary sports announcer Marv Albert, 80, was celebrated after his final broadcast. He has been a broadcaster for 55 years. VP of Talent Relations Tara August gave Albert a big hug courtside and that’s when Barkley cracked his joke.

“Ooo that’s something you don’t see often,” Barkley quipped seeing the two hug onscreen. “A cougar that’s not in the wild.” A “cougar” is an attractive older woman that attempts to seduce younger men.

“Oh man,” co-host Kenny Smith cringed as Shaq laughed at Barkley’s attempt at humor. “Our boss Tara August… that’s right ladies and gentleman we have an African American female boss,” Smith proclaimed.

Barkley is known for his crude humor. He has previously ripped into “PC” culture, complaining that some of the fun that he used to have inside the NBA is being removed by his TNT bosses.

“They won’t even let me talk about San Antonio anymore!” Barkley remarked in June. “You know, when I’m always talking about them big ol’ women down in San Antonio?”

“They wear them big ol’ bloomers down there, they can’t get in them cute little panties, they wear bloomers,” he previously joked in 2016 about San Antonio women. That caused an uproar and offended a number of people.

“The PC people are out overboard right now,” Barkley commented during the Grant and Danny Show on 106.7 The Fan. “I can’t imagine you guys doing a show every day, how crazy it is for you. Like, it’s gotten so out of hand right now, I couldn’t imagine having to watch myself — you can’t even have fun nowadays without these jackasses trying to get you canceled and things like that. Just having fun talking about sports.”

“All we ever talk about behind the scenes now is ‘yo man, be careful going in this direction,’ — we can’t even have fun anymore,” Barkley noted, referring to his co-hosts. “We’ve had fun all these years, and now all of a sudden in the last year and a half, everybody’s trying to get everybody fired and it really sucks.”

“I’m having to hang on for a couple more years until I’m 60 and then they can kiss my ass. I’m only working until 60, I’ve already told them that. I’m not working till the day I die, that’s just stupid and if I don’t have enough money by now, I’m an idiot anyway,” Barkley declared.

The TNT management does not appear to have slowed Barkley down much in the humor department.
