Biden pulls out notes, struggles to answer question on Russia: ‘I’ll tell you what they sent me, OK?’

President Biden embarrassingly stumbled over a question from a journalist concerning Russian cyber-hacking that he had just been briefed on, pulled notes out to respond, and then disastrously struggled over the answer.

At a Michigan pie shop on Saturday, Biden’s mental acuity once again came into question. He seemed unable to coherently string words together to formulate an answer on Russia when answering what appeared to be a simple, straightforward question from a reporter while he was checking out.

“Mr. President, let me know if I can ask you a question,” one of the White House press pool asked Biden. The president told him, “Sure.”

“With the most recent hack by the Russians, would you say that this means…” Biden then cut him off. The question was in regards to a massive cyberattack that affected over 200 U.S. companies Friday at the beginning of the Independence Day weekend. Cyber-security firm Huntress Labs is blaming the Russia-linked REvil ransomware gang for the hack.

“We’re not sure it’s the Russians,” Biden declared. “I got a brief when I was on the plane. That’s why I was late getting off the plane.”

It only got worse from that point forward.

“I’ll be in better shape to talk to you about it,” Biden stumbled and then stopped to pull notes from his jacket breast pocket evidently having to do with the cyberattack that he was just briefed on.

“I’ll tell you what they sent me, OK?” Biden responded and then started reading from his notes. “The idea,” he began reading after a long pause to collect his thoughts, “[F]irst of all we’re not sure who it is for certain, number one. And what I did, I directed the full resources of the government to assist in a response if we determine – what else you need?” Biden distractedly asked, seemingly to the cashier.

‘Oh nothing, you’re all set,’ she told the president.

“OK,” he said and then resumed answering the reporter. “The fact is that I’ve directed the intelligence community to give me a deep dive on what’s happened, and I’ll know better tomorrow. And if it is either with the knowledge of and/or a consequence of Russia, then I told Putin we would respond,” he finished returning the notes to his pocket.

Biden stated that he had not spoken with the Kremlin because he was waiting on confirmation from the intelligence community that Russia was behind the attack. Again, he reiterated that they did not know for sure Russia was behind it.

“We’re not certain. The initial thinking was it was not the Russian government, but we’re not sure yet,” he remarked.

The exchange raised not only criticism from conservatives online, but from those who have prior national intelligence experience.

Former Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell tweeted, “Americans are horrified by these weekly videos highlighting Biden’s mental state. DC reporters ignore these moments – but we see. And we see [the media] protecting Biden.”

The issue of Biden’s mental competence has been raised frequently since he took office. In Wisconsin on Tuesday, Biden brought the subject up himself claiming that he’s been unfairly accused of “losing it” mentally.

More than a dozen Republican House members have requested in a letter that Biden take a cognitive test just as former President Trump did. They want the results released “so the American people know the full mental and intellectual health of their President.”

“The American people should have absolute confidence in their President,” the letter to Biden stated. “They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties of Head of State and Commander in Chief. They deserve full transparency on the mental capabilities of their highest elected leader.”

Texas representative and ex-White House doctor Ronny Jackson says that Biden appears “confused.” He also says that the president is “not aging gracefully.” He told Fox News on Saturday, “I think he’s demonstrating every single day that there is something going on.”

“You don’t need to be a physician to look at this behavior and see there’s something concerning happening,” Jackson noted.

“You can go back – there’s 40 years of tape of this man – he’s always made gaffes and stuff but these are different, he’s confused, he’s disoriented,” he added.

Americans are alarmed by Biden’s confusion and perceived weakness:
