Former President Donald Trump held his first post-presidency rally Saturday evening in Wellington, Ohio, and despite the hot weather and the rather glaring fact that it’s not even an election year, the crowd was enormous.

Prior to the rally, Wellington Police Chief Tim Barfield predicted that between 15,000 to 20,000 Trump supporters would attend, according to local station WBNS.

While it’s not entirely clear how many showed up, there were definitely a lot of people.

Look:

As is true of every Trump rally there has ever been, the former president was on the offensive the whole time, blasting President Joe Biden for “destroying” the country, tearing into the results of the 2020 presidential election and slamming America’s increasingly “woke” institutions, from the media to the military.

On Biden

“After just five months the Biden administration is already a complete and total catastrophe. I told you. Crime is surging, murders are soaring, police departments are being gutted, illegal aliens are overrunning the borders,” he said.

“Nobody’s ever seen anything like it. Our poor borders. They were so perfect, they were so good. Drug cartels and human traffickers are back in business like they’ve never been before. They’re doing numbers that they’ve never even thought possible.”

He was correct about everything. Crime is up, cops are retiring en masse and illegal immigration/smuggling has reached record highs.

“Gas prices are spiking, inflation is skyrocketing and China, Russia and Iran are humiliating our country. Joe Biden is destroying our nation right before our very own eyes,” the former president added.

“The number one priority for everyone who wants to save america is to pour every single ounce of energy into winning a giant victory in the midterms and in 2024.”

Listen:

“Immediately upon taking office, Joe Biden deliberately and systemically … dismantled America’s border defenses and incited a flood of illegal migrants like this country has never seen. They violated our laws from every single corner of the globe,” he continued.

The former president then added, “We gave the new administration the most secure southern border our country had ever seen.”

This is also true, in that his administration’s policies did drastically reduce border crossings to record lows.

Listen:

On “Woke” Military

“Our generals and our admirals are now focused more on this nonsense than they are on our enemies. Do you see these generals lately on television? They are ‘woke.’ They’re ‘woke,'” he said, referencing Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Milley became an overnight sensation among the left last week for endorsing critical race theory, the radical, subversive identitarian ideology being used to divide Americans.

“Our military will be incapable of fighting and incapable of telling orders. You’re going to tell some private, ‘You stand up right now.’ ‘I’m not standing up. You can’t talk to me that way, General!'” Trump added.

The joke was based on “woke” people being ridiculously oversensitive babies.

Listen:

On “Fake” News

“They are fake. They are so fake and so pathetic. And there are so many of them up there. So many of them. And they’re hurting our country very badly. Honestly, they’re hurting our country, because they’re not real. They’re not real,” he said of the media.

The crowd then began chanting “CNN sucks.”

Polling data published last week suggests that the majority of Americans share this opinion about the media. The data found that that of the world’s 46 top countries, the United States ranks last in media trust.

“The United States ranks last in media trust — at 29% — among 92,000 news consumers surveyed in 46 countries, a report released Wednesday found. That’s worse than Poland, worse than the Philippines, worse than Peru,” the Poynter Institute lamented.

The Poytner Institute, a so-called “journalism school,” is itself a hotbed of the same far-left bias that’s made the media as a whole so discredited in the United States.

Just last week the “school” called for the media to start covering up certain criminal acts because accurate coverage exacerbates so-called “systemic racism.”

On 2020 and 2024

Last but not least, the former president maintained his controversial opinion that the 2020 presidential election hadn’t been on the up and up.

“This was the scam of the century and this was the crime of the century. We’re never going to stop fighting for the true results of this election. … Remember I’m not the one trying to undermine American democracy. I’m trying to save American democracy,” he said.

“Who the hell knows what’s going to be in 2024? We won’t even have a country left. We’re not going to have a country left! And if we don’t figure it out we’re not going to be in a position to win in 2022 or 2024. … They used COVID in order to cheat. They used COVID in order to rig the election. They used COVID in order to steal the election. They used COVID. That’s a simple as it gets.”

Just to be clear, according to so-called “fact-checkers,” the former president’s 2020 election fraud claims are unsubstantiated and have no merit.

Trump also hinted at a possible 2024 run.

“We won the election twice and it’s possible we’ll have to win it a third time. It’s possible,” he said.

Again, just to be clear, President Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election.
