Rand Paul: Unsubstantiated push to vaccinate kids from covid ‘direct result of Dr Fauci’s big lie’

Sen. Rand Paul accused lead U.S. immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci of pushing a “big lie” regarding the need to vaccinate young Americans and children for COVID-19 though medical science has proven they are hardly at risk for contracting the disease, let alone becoming deathly ill from it.

By comparison, he noted during an interview with Fox News Wednesday evening, a growing body of medical research shows that giving young people and kids the vaccine could actually harm them, as researchers have found a connection in recent months between some of the COVID shots and a heart conditions known as pericarditis and myocarditis.

Fox News Primetime host Will Cain began the segment noting that there has been “a massive cultural push” by the medical community, politicians, and the entertainment industry, among others, for all Americans to get the vaccine, adding that anyone who questions the safety or efficacy of them is shunned.

While noting “it’s one thing to submit adults to this kind of pressure,” Cain went on to suggest it is improper to “get kids involved” in such pressure campaigns, especially on the heels of a request from Pfizer that children as young as two years old get the vaccine by fall, even though the vaccines are still listed as “experimental.”

The anchor went on to cite a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory linking the two inflammatory heart conditions to more than 1,000 reports into the federal government’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System by people who have gotten one of the three approved COVID vaccines.

“How do you make a smart decision? Why is critical thinking being shut down?” asked Cain as he brought on Paul, a Kentucky Republican and ophthalmologist who has been highly critical of Fauci, the CDC, and other federal health entities regarding the need to vaccinate all Americans, including those who have gotten the coronavirus, recovered from it, and have developed resistant antibodies.

“This is a direct result of Dr. Fauci’s big lie,” Paul began. “The big lie is that we have no natural immunity. So 100 million people in America got COVID, unfortunately, but they survived. A hundred million people survived, they have immunity.

“But if you don’t count them, you don’t think that we have reached herd immunity” so “they keep pushing, pushing, pushing” for more people to become vaccinated, Paul continued. “They’ve got most of the adults they think they are going to get. So they have to push this on children because they think they are not yet at herd immunity.”

The Kentucky Republican then cited medical researchers from Johns Hopkins, as well as himself and others who have “looked at the data” and now believe the country has reached “herd immunity.”

“If you count natural immunity,” he continued, “you are up to 80, 85 percent immunity.”

“But you have to count natural immunity. If you discount that, there is this pressure to inoculate children. And you are right, it should be individualized,” he added.

Paul said he asked a top American Medical Association official earlier this week during a hearing about COVID whether it was prudent to first find out whether a child has actually had the virus before injecting them with potentially harmful COVID vaccines.

Cain responded by saying that information about potential harm to children should be provided to parents before they decide whether to proceed with a vaccine for their kids.

Paul agreed, noting that people who suffer sickness and death from COVID are over 65, adding that people who are under 25 years of age have a minuscule risk of contracting the disease and dying.

“The standard for safety is going to have to be different for children than it is for 65-year-olds,” Paul said.

“But for your 5-year-old, who is more likely to be struck by lightning and die, they should prove and let us know what is the risk of myocarditis? If it’s one and 100,000, that’s rare, but that’s more common than one in a million from COVID,” he added. “So you have to balance the risks on this.”

“Could we have a lower dose of the vaccine? Would we let them have one vaccine instead of two? None of these things have been studied,” Paul added.

“But it’s all about submission. Dr. Fauci is an elitist like the rest of these people. You must submit. Do not think, you are not an individual. You are part of the hive and the hive must obey with the commandant says.”
