Ingraham: Congress should halt military funds after Gen. Milley’s support for ‘far-left Marxist ideology’

On Wednesday, Laura Ingraham, host of “The Ingraham Angle,” blasted General Mark Milley for propagating a “far-left Marxist racist ideology” in the U.S. military over his support of Critical Race Theory.

Milley testified before the House Armed Services Committee and was questioned concerning diversity training and racism within the ranks of the military. He stated that he found recent attacks on the military over those issues “offensive.” Milley voiced his support for Critical Race Theory and he blamed the Jan. 6 riot on “white rage.” “I do think it’s important for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read,” stated Milley seemingly insinuating that troops were closed-minded and uneducated.

“The fact is, Milley has made his choice,” noted Ingraham.”And he’s chosen to indulge the radical whims of Democrats. He’ll do everything they tell him as long as they keep the military-industrial complex flush with cash.”

“We are sending our tax dollars to this military in an attempt to weed out so-called extremists, which just means conservative evangelicals as far as I can tell,” she posited. “Why is Congress not saying we’re not going to give you a penny until all of this is eradicated from the military budget? Nothing,” Ingraham angrily stated. “This is my offer to you: nothing. That’s what I would say. I am totally outraged by [Milley] and his ridiculous response today.”

General Milley is the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was an infantry officer who served in the Green Berets during his four-decade career. Ingraham noted his service but slammed him for his “wokeness” and political correctness.

She took umbrage at his embrace of Critical Race Theory in the military and called him a “total partisan at this point.” She pointed out that he was “parroting left-wing talking points” in regards to Critical Race Theory.

“I want to understand white rage. I’m white and I want to understand it. So, what is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the constitution of the United States of America? What caused that? I want to find that out,” Milley claimed, referring to the Capitol riot on January 6.

“I’ve read Mao Tse-tung. I’ve read Karl Marx. I’ve read Lenin. That doesn’t make me a communist,” he proclaimed in response to comments from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Mike Waltz (R-FL), adding later, “I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military — our general officers, our commissioned, noncommissioned officers — of being ‘woke’ or something else because we’re studying some theories out there.”

Ingraham also had Waltz, a former Green Beret, on her show to comment on Milley’s stances. He believes that the general is “confusing critical race theory for some type of diversity training or a history class on fascism and communism.” But Ingraham believes that Milley knows exactly what he is doing.

Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds also joined the segment and expressed his thoughts on General Milley’s espoused radical views: “If you want to study the history of the nation, study the history of the nation. But let’s be very clear, Critical Race Theory is a subjective lens to view the history of the country, not an objective study of the history of the United States.”

“CRT is going to split our military ranks like it splits our young children in schools. It has no place there, it has no place in K-12 education, and the United States government should not be funding that. If academics want to theorize in the halls of academia, it’s a free country, God bless you, go do it, but we shouldn’t be funding it in our military in our schools,” he concluded.

General Milley was also slammed on social media for his “wokeness”:

On the other side of the political aisle, the left tried to turn the tables on Ingraham and compared her call for defunding to the left’s call to defund the police:
