Second reporter goes rogue, announces on live TV they will be blowing the whistle on network ‘discrimination’

For the second time in a week, a local reporter announced during a live broadcast that they will be speaking with conservative watchdog group Project Veritas about conditions they face in their employment.

CBS 62 weather reporter April Moss made the surprise announcement in the middle of the weather forecast on Sunday.

“Speaking of a brand new week, I will be sitting down this week with Project Veritas to discuss the discrimination that CBS is enforcing on its employees,” she said. “Tune in to Project Veritas for my full story.”

Moss, a weekend weather anchor, joined the Detroit CBS affiliate’s weather team in 2012, according to her profile on CBS 62’s website. She also hosts Street Beat, which airs Saturday mornings on CW50

It’s not clear what her current employment status is.

According to reports, a Project Veritas spokesperson said Moss’s interview will likely be broadcast on Tuesday night.

“We are observing a movement of inspired media insiders coming forward, and more insiders will be compelled to speak out against corruption and wrongdoing in the very near future,” the spokesperson reportedly said, when asked if other reporters have contacted them.

Last Monday, Fox 26 Houston reporter Ivory Hecker announced on live TV that she would be speaking with Project Veritas about being muzzled by Fox Corp.

“I want to let you the viewers know that Fox Corp. has been muzzling me to keep certain information from you,” Hecker said.

“I am going to be releasing some recordings about what goes on behind the scenes at Fox because it applies to you the viewers. I found a nonprofit journalism group called Project Veritas that’s gonna help put that out tomorrow, so tune in to them,” she added.

The general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor with the Fox affiliate was fired on Tuesday, according to the Daily Beast.

That same day, Project Veritas dropped a recording of Hecker being told by her bosses at KRIV-TV to “cease and desist posting about hydroxychloroquine.” The drug was widely panned in the media last year when former President Donald Trump touted it as an effective coronavirus treatment, saying it could be “one of the biggest game changers.”

“It affects the viewers, that’s why I’m doing this. The viewers are being deceived by a carefully crafted narrative in some stories,” Hecker told Project Veritas. “I want out of this narrative news-telling, of this corruption.”

Fox Corporation owns and operates KRIV-TV through its subsidiary Fox Broadcasting Company.

Hecker shared on Twitter on Monday that her video “exposing” her bosses was deleted without warning by YouTube:

A FOX 26 spokesperson called Hecker a “disgruntled” employee and said the station “adheres to the highest editorial standards of accuracy and impartiality,” according to the Daily Mail.

“This incident involves nothing more than a disgruntled former employee seeking publicity by promoting a false narrative produced through selective editing and misrepresentation,” the spokesperson added.

It appears that Moss decided to follow in Hecker’s footprints, although Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe made an appeal last week to others to come forward.

“There are those who’ve had enough. Who live like they’re dying,” O’Keefe explained. “There are going to be hundreds more of them. Thousands who exhibit a special form of moral courage, follow their conscience and record what happens with a hidden camera to observe behaviors for the world to see. BE BRAVE. DO SOMETHING. If not us, who? If not now, when?”
