iHeartMedia, a mass media conglomerate that owns the majority of America’s radio stations, has been accused of racist hiring practices because of an email sent by one of its executive producers.
Last week, the company posted a standard job opening for a “podcast editor/engineer” based out of New York City, New York.
Days later on Thursday, Molly Socha, the executive producer of custom podcasts at iHeartMedia, submitted a related email to an email mailing list (known as a listserv) dedicated to news about the New York City radio industry, according to CNS News.
In that email, Socha said that iHeartMedia was looking for “a full-time, experienced editor/engineer to join our team” but stressed that there’s a stipulation.
“Diversity is incredibly important to our team and our company so we are looking at only diverse hires at this time,” she wrote.
Below is a screenshot of the email:
While she did not specify what she meant by “diverse hires,” the assumption based on recent cultural trends is that she meant no whites — and perhaps no Asians too.
To iHeartMedia’s credit, this stipulation is not and has never been included in the company’s actual job ad. Rather, the job ad stresses that the company “is an equal opportunity employer and will not tolerate discrimination in employment.”
It goes on to list all forms of barred discrimination: “race, color, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, disability, ethnicity, national origin, marital status, protected veteran status, genetic information, or any other legally protected classification or status.”
This disclaimer is standard on most job ads because it is, in fact, illegal for companies to discriminate when hiring. But because of the popularity of critical race theory and identity politics among left-wingers, many companies that align with left-wing values have, in recent times, attempted to bypass this rule:

Back in February, the IT consulting and staffing firm Aptude posted an ad for a data analyst with the stipulation that the applicant be “non-Asian,” as reported by Bay Area station KGO.
Because of backlash, the company eventually removed the stipulation and issued an apology claiming the stipulation had been posted in error.
“Our investigation revealed that misunderstood communication was posted by an individual with no conceivable discriminatory intent. Aptude took steps to ensure no such posts occur in the future,” the company claimed.
According to CNS News, Socha also eventually relented by publishing a follow-up email to the listserv Thursday claiming she, too, had made an error.
“I made an error in language in my last note, so I just want to clarify, ALL are welcome to apply and we will consider ALL qualified candidates,” she wrote.
“That being said, in our efforts to elevate diverse voices in the predominately white podcast space, we strongly encourage engineers/editors of color––regardless of gender and sexual orientation–– to apply,” she added.
But critics didn’t believe her because her own Twitter history shows that she has a track record of complaining about there being too many white people:

Plus, anti-white racism is standard-fare these days among the left.
Back in 2016, the producers of the Broadway show “Hamilton” published an ad asking specifically for “non-white” performers, a move so blatant it attracted the attention of civil rights attorneys.
“What if they put an ad out that said, ‘Whites only need apply?’ Why, African-Americans, Latinos, Asians would be outraged,” one civil rights attorney, Randolph McLaughlin, told station WLNY at the time.
“You cannot advertise showing that you have a preference for one racial group over another. As an artistic question – sure, he can cast whomever he wants to cast, but he has to give every actor eligible for the role an opportunity to try,” he added.
This discrimination has also found its way into government. Oakland, a far-left city, tried launching a basic income program for the poor this past spring that seemingly barred impoverished white people from participating.

The city later clarified that whites could apply for the program but would not receive priority. The program officially went into effect just this week.
“The Oakland Resilient Families program began accepting applications for the East Oakland phase Tuesday. There are 300 openings for families who live in East Oakland and they will be chosen by a random lottery, though priority goes to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC),” according to local station KPIX.
As for Socha, what her critics genuinely wonder is, if she truly believes in so-called “diversity,” then why doesn’t she sacrifice her own job to make way for a minority?
Surely @MissMollySocha is in the process of finding her replacement because she is white

The white folk @iHeartRadio need to step down from their jobs immediately. @MissMollySocha needs go first and lead by example.
