For those thinking about running for elected office, even in a blue state like New York, a potential candidate may want to make a personal note to themselves not to engage publicly with a person who goes by the name “Crackhead Barney.”
The odds are not in your favor that you will emerge from such an encounter looking good. As Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.”
Not that Andrew Giuliani doesn’t deserve some credit for trying. The son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is running for governor of New York and was in the Big Apple this week attending a pro-Israel rally and was confronted by a TikTok personality who goes by the moniker “Crackhead Barney.”
“Are you going to be like your daddy,” the person asked, this being a good example of the level of intellect to expect.
Giluiani countered to ask the woman if she likes New York City the way it is, with crime and gun violence soaring, or the way it was in the 80s. As might be expected, she countered to insist that she absolutely loves the city she thrives in today.
The candidate tried to stay focused on policy, talking about cleaning up the city and having Jewish Americans respected again. Crackhead Barney retorted, “I hate your father. I f*cking hate him!”

Naturally, raging Kool-Aid drinkers on the left — people like Molly Jong-Fast — love Crackhead Barney. After all, the TikTok personality embodies the failed liberal utopia Democrats like her have worked hard to create in many urban areas across America.
The line about his father should have been Giuliani’s cue to walk away, but his ambition got the better of him as he tried again to reason with the woman, informing her that if she said something like that in Palestine, she might be beheaded.
“You want to know the beautiful thing about the United States of America,” he replied. “You can stand and say that. Unfortunately in Palestine you can’t, you’d be beheaded.”
This prompted a spirited kindergarten level back and forth game of “Have you been there?”
But then, Giuliani is definitely an in-your-face type of candidate:

Andrew Yang, who is running for mayor of New York City, had his own encounter with Crackhead Barney recently.
It started off well enough, with the woman saying, “Much love to you.”
After asking Yang if he liked what she was wearing and if he wanted her to pull down her top and expose her breasts, and whether he liked “black p*ssy,” Crackhead Barney then spit out, “Why the f*ck are you a Zionist Andrew Lang?”
Yang had enough sense to know when to walk away, upon which the woman literally threw herself on the sidewalk in front of the candidate, screaming “F*ck Zionism.”
