WH releases pic of ‘first babysitter’ prepping for G7, it ‘couldn’t be clearer: Dr. Jill’s in charge now’

As President Joe Biden was set to depart for his trip to Europe, first lady Jill Biden tweeted out a picture of herself on Wednesday sitting at the president’s desk on Air Force One, hitting the books in preparation for the G7 Summit.

The photo had a number of conservatives wondering exactly who was elected in the 2020 presidential election. Normally, one would see the president preparing for a meeting of this magnitude, not his spouse.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson noted that Dr. Jill Biden is there to watch over and direct her husband every step of the way during the summit.

“You may have wondered, as the world’s biggest industrialized democracies meet this week to discuss imminent global crises, who’s going to represent the United States, us, at this year’s G-7 Summit? Joe Biden can’t do it obviously. We don’t want to be mean, but you know why he can’t. He just can’t. Kamala Harris could go, but she’s tied up right now getting yelled at by Guatemalan farmers. So who? Well, thankfully, there’s a doctor in the house: Dr. Jill,” Carlson said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday.

“The White House publicity team released this action shot today of Dr. Jill, who we should tell you, by the way, is not actually a doctor, hitting the books, as she readies herself to represent America in the global family of nations,” he continued.

“She’s got her reading glasses on and a pen in hand. You can see her husband’s monogrammed jacket on the chair behind her. She’s sitting at Joe Biden’s own desk on Air Force One. So the point couldn’t be clearer: Dr. Jill’s in charge now,” Carlson quipped.

Jill Biden is a university professor. She has previously claimed that is one of her proudest achievements. The photo struck a chord with those who saw it as she prepped for her first overseas trip as first lady.

The first lady will only be in attendance on the UK portion of the trip. She will return to the United States on Sunday following a meeting with Queen Elizabeth. The president will continue on his eight-day European jaunt to Brussels for a NATO meeting.

Jill Biden spoke to US Air Force personnel stationed in the UK and their families while abroad. As she addressed troops at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, President Biden turned to look at the ranks. That was when she admonished him to focus on her: “Joe, pay attention.”

During her four days on the trip, Jill Biden is scheduled to have tea with Carrie Johnson, who is the wife of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. She’ll also attend events with veterans, including a group that is connected to Prince Harry. Both Bidens are reportedly friends of his.

House Republicans took notice of the first lady’s pile of notes and her diligence in preparing for the G7 Summit in her photo, sending out a tweet that simply asked: “Where’s Joe?”

Comparisons are being made to Woodrow Wilson’s wife, Edith Wilson, who took over his presidential duties after the president had a stroke. She misled the public about his condition and ostensibly made decisions in his stead.

Many others wondered at the first lady’s seemingly presumptive presidential duties:
