Senator Rand Paul was not surprised at the content of thousands of Dr. Fauci’s emails obtained in a “Freedom of Information Act” request by BuzzFeed News and the Washington Post. He had the perfect response in reaction to the development.
He tweeted: “Told you. #firefauci.” And then added: “Can’t wait to see the media try to spin the Fauci FOIA emails.” Paul has been relentless in calling out Fauci for his flip-flopping concerning his stances on the pandemic. The trove of emails bolsters Paul’s accusations against Fauci but the media is still spinning him as a hero.
The 4,060 emails surfaced on Wednesday. They detailed a number of revelations concerning Dr. Fauci and the coronavirus, including his communications with Chinese Communist Party officials, a researcher who told him the virus might be engineered, and his advice against wearing masks.
EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak who is closely aligned with the Wuhan Institute of Virology personally thanked Dr. Fauci in an email in April of 2020 for publicly rejecting the theory that the lab was connected to the release of the virus.
Told you 👀

“I just wanted to say a personal thank you on behalf of our staff and collaborators, for publicly standing up and stating that the scientific evidence supports a natural origin for COVID-19 from a bat-to-human spillover, not a lab release from the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Daszak said to Fauci in his email.
“From my perspective, your comments are brave, and coming from your trusted voice, will help dispel the myths being spun around the virus’ origins,” Daszak commented.
Fauci’s emails with the Chinese Communist Party are particularly disturbing. He seemed to have a very cordial relationship with them while former President Trump was still in office. At the time, Trump was being blamed for the outbreak of the virus in the United States.
As Fauci was criticized for his handling of the pandemic, George Gao, director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention emailed his support to the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci: “I saw some news (hope it is fake) that [you] are being attacked by some people. Hope you are well under such a irrational situation,” Gao stated on April 8, 2020.
Fauci replied several days later and thanked his longtime friend and colleague for his “kind note.”
“All is well despite some crazy people in this world,” Fauci declared.
Senator Paul has confronted Dr. Fauci on the mask issue over and over. It is an issue that Fauci did an about-face on during the early days of the pandemic.
Former Obama Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell emailed Fauci in February of 2020 asking him for advice concerning wearing face masks while traveling. He responded claiming that masks were useless for the uninfected. Since then, he has completely reversed that stance.
“Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection. The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through material,” he stated. “It might, however, provide some slight benefit in keep out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you. I do not recommend that you wear a mask, particularly since you are going to a very low-risk location.”

Conservatives had a field day with Fauci’s emails and what they contain:
The Fauci emails just show that Fauci consistently took the path of least resistance: downplaying the Wuhan lab leak theory, flip-flopping on masking, militantly fighting Rand Paul over post-covid immunity even though he knew better (Paul was right).

Keep on him Senator. We deserve to know the absolute truth.

Scientist Kristian Anderson told Fauci SARS-CoV-2 has “unusual features” that “potentially look engineered”.
Not long after this email, the scientists authored a piece insisting the virus was natural and Fauci said the same publicly. This is a massive cover-up.

Dr. Fauci knew trusted scientists found COVID had unusual features that didn’t fit with evolutionary theory and he knew they thought it was likely COVID was engineered in January 2020. Yet he told media science supported a natural origin while dismissing the idea of a lab leak. pic.twitter.com/tq29T29Efa

Found an amazing Fauci FOIA email in which a scientist is trying to warn him (dated March 18,2020) that COVID has spread well beyond any suitable containment measures, & says China is lying about its data.
Fauci doesn’t reply, tells his assistant that it’s too long to read lol.

Historians will be so confused by the media’s lionization of Fauci. Once politics of the moment are removed from the equation, Fauci will be seen as having been consistently wrong, disingenuous, self-aggrandizing—and possibly much, much worse (gain of function, etc.) #FauciEmails

So far, the Fauci FOIA emails show:
-He had some urgent, time sensitive discussions about gain of function.
-Told colleagues retail masks don't work due to size of virus.
-Ignored scientist who told him China was lying about virus and data.
-Was well aware of possible lab leak.
