Fox News’s Judge Jeanine Pirro railed at Dr. Anthony Fauci during her “Opening Statement” monologue Saturday evening, calling him out for leaving the U.S. unprepared to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic after specifically predicting one at the outset of former President Donald Trump’s term in 2017.
Pirro began by acknowledging the Memorial Day holiday on Monday and noting that it is widely considered by Americans to be the “unofficial start” to summer. But she also said that this year, Americans will “be walking into a very different” country after the pandemic.
After going through a litany of changes including rising leftism and a bitterly divided nation; a new immigrant crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border that includes dramatic increases in drug smuggling; and crime spikes in major cities, Pirro notes all of it “started with the coronavirus.”
“We can blame all that we’ve lost, all that we’ve suffered from a virus that came from another part of the world. But how much do we really know about it?” said Pirro. “Unfortunately, we know very little. And because we’ve all been forced to hide under a rock for the last fifteen months, we know very little about the origin and spread of the virus.”
The former judge said what Americans do know about COVID-19 came from “the mainstream media, social media, and Dr. Fauci, the alleged knowing prince of all things COVID who has even contradicted himself over and over.
“Yet in 40 years, facing numerous infectious threats under Anthony Fauci’s leadership, the NIAID performance in developing diagnostics, therapeutics, or public health tools — like a vaccine — has been far less than stellar,” she added, referencing the length of time Fauci has led the infectious disease agency.
Pirro noted that private industry was responsible for developing “a solution” to HIV during the 1980s and early 1990s, as well as “a vaccine for ebola.”
“Yet Fauci who has served seven presidents and is the highest-paid public servant in government…has had billions of dollars available to him through federal funding. Yet, he did little to assist the millions worldwide suffering from ebola or HIV. So much for the knowing prince of infectious diseases,” Pirro continued.
Continuing, Pirro said “it should be no surprise” that Fauci was seemingly unprepared for the COVID-19 pandemic, which she described as “the greatest healthcare crisis in history.”
“Why was there a single voice, a single opinion, the only answer solely responsible for global health policy? Why was Fauci who made more money than anyone in the United States government permitted to sit on private boards and accept personal monies? from the private sector?” Pirro asked.
“Why was Fauci allowed to stifle the opinions of others equally experienced and qualified but differing in opinion like Dr. Scott Atlas?” she went on before noting that Fauci predicted a pandemic shortly after Trump took office.
“If he knew this, why didn’t he develop a responsible method for this virus four years ago? He expressly said that President Donald Trump would face a crisis and pandemic unlike anything we have seen,” the host continued before playing a clip of Fauci making his prediction in a speech at Georgetown University in January 2017.
“If there’s one message that I want to leave with you today that is based on my experience… there is no question that there will be a challenge [for] the coming administration in the arena of infectious diseases,” Fauci said. “But also there will be a surprise outbreak…there is no doubt in anyone’s mind [the administration] will be faced with challenges their predecessors were faced with.”
Pirro noted the chilling nature of the prediction.
“That comment alone should convince you with his unique ability to predict a future pandemic and predict it specifically during President Trump’s term should frighten anyone, unless of course, you bought the same crystal ball he did,” she said.
And yet, the host continued, despite his remarkable insight as well having more than adequate resources at his disposal, “how is it that Fauci was not ready to protect the American public when he knew a threat existed?”
“Why was this fabulously wealthy public servant allowed to sit on the scientific board of the global grand challenges of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and other boards promoting health policy and therapeutics that go along with that policy? Does conflict of interest ring a bell with you?”
Pirro went on to say that Americans are likely to need more than one COVID-19 vaccine in terms of booster shots for the foreseeable future, according to recent data, which she said is questionable in and of itself.
“Why do we need so many vaccines and who is making the money?” she asked?
“So, as you walk out your doors and walk back into the world that was America, don’t be surprised if you experience something far different from the America you were forced to close your door on last March in 2020.”
