‘Just leave our country’: MSNBC host unleashes explosive rant against ‘unworthy’ Trump supporters

MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough went on a tirade Friday against supporters of former President Donald Trump in regards to an ongoing audit of ballots in Arizona initiated by state Senate Republicans, telling them to “get the hell out” so they can be replaced by more patriotic migrants.

“If you believe” that the election results in Arizona may have been fraudulent or otherwise tainted, Scarborough began, his voice raised, “I will say to you what many of you said in the 1960s — America, love it or leave it.

“If you don’t have respect in American democracy anymore, if you don’t respect Madisonian checks and balances, if your guy doesn’t win — if that’s the new rules of engagement for this great republic,” Scarborough shouted at the camera, “then just leave our country. Because you’re unworthy of it.”

With voice still raised, the MSNBC host and former GOP lawmaker from Florida claimed “there are millions of immigrants who will come here and raise their right hand and buy into the creed and believe that we are exceptional, that believe that American democracy is the greatest government on the face of the earth.”

He went on to say immigrants would do so “proudly” and “salute the flag proudly” as well.

“Most importantly, they will fight for what that flag represents while you shame yourself,” Scarborough continued, still shouting. “While you disgrace yourself. While you disgrace our country in the eyes of the world. Yes, this is all on you.

“Get the facts!” he added angrily. “Live in the light. Follow the truth. And love this country. And stop this. Or leave.”

“Or leave,” he repeated, his voice lowering. “If you’re going to believe a reality TV host’s lies about the American republic…its desecration of American exceptionalism…then just get the hell out. We don’t want ya here.”

Scarborough’s tirade comes as Arizona Senate Republicans continue to lead an audit into 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County, the state’s largest that encompasses Phoenix, amid allegations of potential vote fraud. Democrats have thrown up every obstacle possible including lawsuits in order to stop the process. The county Board of Supervisors has also blocked or slowed efforts, according to investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson.

As for Scarborough, he was reminded by a number of social media users of his previous endorsement of false or misleading information regarding Trump, including the widely discredited claim that the former president ‘colluded’ with Russian President Vladimir Putin to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.

“Two things, Joe: 1) You’re the same people who claimed for 3 years that Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election. 2) Why are you so afraid of audits if this was supposedly the most secure election in history?” one user wrote.

“Imagine being in that state of mind at… *checks notes* …6 a.m.” added The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra.

Other Twitter users agreed:

Scarborough also falsely accused Trump of withholding arms from Ukraine as a sort of ‘quid pro quo’ until the country’s leaders agreed to investigate corruption allegations involving Joe and Hunter Biden, while at the same time implicating then-U.S. Attorney General William Barr.

The Office of Management and Budget determined that Trump had done nothing wrong and that the money was dispersed to Ukraine in a timely manner.
