Former Trump administration official Stephen Miller suggested in an interview with Fox News host Mark Levin this weekend that the “woke” left doesn’t understand the meaning of racism.

Speaking on Fox News’ “Life, Liberty & Levin” in an interview set to air Sunday, he pointed out that if America were truly a racist nation, there be an exodus of citizens, versus an influx of illegals.

The best measure of the kinds of freedoms, rights, dignity that are afforded by a society is whether or not people are trying to leave en masse, or whether or not people are trying to arrive en masse,” he said.

Look at the Soviet Union. People would do anything to escape the Soviet Union and find a measure of freedom and human dignity. In the United States, we are the number one global destination for migration, and we have been for a very long time.”

Yet to hear members of the left tell it, America is a racist nation because, among other things, it has the audacity to enforce its immigration laws.

Listen to Miller’s commentary below:

He continued by rightly noting that the enforcement of immigration laws isn’t a mark of racism.

“If you use the position of the left that every single person in the world who would stand to economically benefit from entering the U.S. should be allowed to enter the U.S., you would have to let in several billion people. You would cease to have a nation,” he said.

A Gallup poll conducted in 2019 found that 42 million adult inhabitants of Latin America and the Caribbean wanted to relocate to the U.S. Given that many of the 42 million adults likely had children, this means there were most likely up to 100 to 200 million total people in the area hoping to one day relocate.

Keep in mind the poll just covered one region of this very large planet.

“The situation on the border right now is not just a phenomenon of illegal migration from Mexico and the Northern Triangle. I was at the White House for four years, and what we saw working day and night on the border is that it had become a global phenomenon. Smuggling and trafficking networks bring people from all over planet Earth, from literally scores of countries, into our border,” Miller noted.

And they’re being encouraged/incentivized to by the Biden administration’s policies, including the one that says every child that arrives at the border may enter.

“It’s unimaginable that right now the message that this administration’s sent the world is if you smuggle a child to our border, you will get in, and that child will get in. That is outrageous. It is dangerous. It is antithetical to the idea of sovereignty. We are basically saying that there’s a loophole in our border so large that half of planet Earth can fit through it,” he continued.

He added that this incentivization is also producing mass human tragedy whereby illegal aliens, including children, are being forced into indentured servitude or sex trafficking to pay off their debts to smugglers.

“You know how many times somebody comes into this country, and then they are basically forced into labor or sex trafficking to pay off that debt? Indentured servitude of the worst kind imaginable? This is what we’re doing on the border of the greatest country in the world?” he said.

“That’s reckless,” Miller added. “That’s immoral. That has to be enjoined.”

And then there’s the legal aspect.

“Congress passed laws, [and] the president signed those laws. The Constitution says the executive must take care of those laws and faithfully execute them. We don’t have a democracy anymore if a president can come in and say ‘this whole section of law doesn’t exist anymore,'” Miller said.

It’s for these reasons, among others, that he recently launched a new nonprofit organization, America First Legal.

“This isn’t right or left. This is about the Constitution of the United States. That’s why we’re suing the Biden administration alongside Texas … to end the catch and release policies on the border that not only violate law. but they violate the administration’s own COVID regulations,” Miller continued.

“Additionally we’re working behind the scenes with several states that are filing lawsuits that are ongoing right now to end the backdoor abolition of ice. Biden’s memos basically curtailing most interior enforcement so that April saw the lowest ever interior removals is an attempt to abolish ICE by memo, and almost a 100 percent of that reduction in enforcement is accomplished by freeing illegal immigrants who are facing separate criminal charges and convictions.”

Because apparently, detaining and then deporting illegal alien child molesters, rapists and killers is also racist, or so sayeth the left …
