Reacting to a discussion about Fox News supposedly pushing false narratives, self-described “token conservative” and vocal Never Trumper Meghan McCain dropped a truth bomb about how corporate media liberals, even on her TV program, seemingly pick and choose what stories to cover, with advancing a left-wing agenda foremost in mind.
Ignoring Hunter Biden’s various alleged scandals was a fundamental error of omission by the mainstream media, she asserted.
“Let’s go down the list of things every day that are inaccurate on CNN and NBC, and then we’ll talk about fairness in the media,” McCain also declared on The View.
On Wednesday’s broadcast of the ABC talk show, the liberal ladies lamented how Fox News erred when it reported on two stories: Biden’s alleged anti-meat, climate agenda and that Kamala Harris’ book was being distributed to children at a border facility.
In response, co-host McCain, the late Sen. John McCain’s daughter, began her on-point rant by noting that each and every media outlet has an obligation to fact-check. She then launched into a monologue about media bias and double standards.

“This is a weird topic for me, even when I was talking about it like with my producer this morning. And just bear with me on this. I am the token conservative in media, in mainstream media. I’m the only conservative woman in all of media.
“The reason why is there’s a token is because the mainstream media only feels like there needs to be one on a show like this. That one person out of five represented means there’s enough conservative media coverage.”
Almost sounding like she’s joined up with Team MAGA despite her animosity toward the ex-president, McCain went on to imply that The View was among the many corporate media outlets that buried the various sketchy activities of Hunter Biden, with slack that they never would have given to the Trump siblings.
“What I have found interesting working in what I consider liberal media is not the stories we talk about, but the stories that we don’t talk about. There’s been a lot of stories — like, for example, we’ve never talked about Hunter Biden as a hot topic on this show, whereas Ivanka Trump or Donald Trump Jr. coughed in the wrong direction, it probably would have taken up the first two blocks.
She then touted The Federalist website co-founded by her husband Ben Domenech (who is getting a tryout as host of Fox News Primetime) because it provides some degree of ideological diversity.
“I don’t agree with the stories that Fox said; they should obviously do a correction…It’s interesting because my husband and I, you know, exist — our whole world is conservative media. He founded and runs one of the most influential and highly trafficked conservative websites on the Internet.
“And the reason why these outlets like this need to exist is because everything else is liberal, everywhere else.
“There’s a reason why Fox is killing it in the ratings and laps everyone else. It’s because it seems like it’s rigged every place else…”
“You think Jim Acosta isn’t an activist. I don’t have any trust in people on CNN anymore. So I take such umbrage at this entire concept that liberal media which runs all of media, all of tech, all of entertainment, all of music, all of culture, all of politics, all three branches of government — I’m supposed to feel bad because there’s two things from Fox News that have been inaccurate.
“I mean, let’s go down the list every day of things every day that are inaccurate on CNN and NBC, and then we can talk about fairness in the media,” Meghan McCain concluded.
McCain also disagreed with co-host Sunny Hostin’s criticism of Fox News reporter John Roberts, who she described as “one of the best reporters out there hands down, across the board.”
This is not the first time that McCain called out media bias. For example, in a previous back and forth with Hostin, McCain said “The only way to become a good Republican is to become a Democrat, according to the media.”
Separately, independent journalist Sharyl Attkisson has documented the mistakes that the media made in the Trump era (usually in one direction), with the total currently at 154. She also started a similar compilation for Biden’s term.
