Trump demands state police or Natl Guard protection for Arizona election audit: Dems ‘will do anything to stop it’

Former President Donald Trump has demanded that an ongoing recount in Arizona of the 2020 presidential election results be promptly granted enhanced security protection by the governor in the form of state police or even the National Guard, or else.

Between Friday and Saturday, the former president sent three emails through his Save America PAC warning Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey that he’ll be held responsible if anything goes awry during the recount that reportedly began on Thursday.

“The Republican Party is demanding that Governor Ducey of Arizona immediately provide large-scale security for the brave American Patriots doing the Forensic Audit of the 2020 Presidential Election,” Trump wrote in one email, according to former Trump legal adviser Jenna Ellis.

“Governor Ducey will be held fully responsible for the safety of those involved. State police or National Guard must be immediately sent out for protection. The Democrats do not want to have this information revealed, and they will do anything to stop it. Governor Ducey must finally act!”

In another, longer email, the president thanked Arizona’s state-level Republican senators for having put together the audit and accused both state Democrats and Ducey, a Republican, of opposing the audit because they’re trying to hide something.

“Why are the Democrats so desperate to stop this Election Fraud from being revealed? That answer is obvious! The Governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey, has been shockingly of zero help to the State Senate. He wants to ‘pretend’ the election was free and fair. What are he and the Maricopa County Commissioners trying to hide?” he reportedly wrote.

“Our country needs the truth of the scam 2020 Election to be exposed. If it is not, just as if we have ‘no borders,’ we cannot be a Great Nation. Honest elections are America’s Heart and Soul. We must never allow this to happen to our Great Country again. Thank you State Senators and others in Arizona for commencing this full forensic audit. I predict the results will be startling!”

The president and his allies remain convinced that he won the 2020 presidential election and that a thorough audit will expose all the alleged “massive voter fraud” that they say led current President Joe Biden to what they believe was a pseudo victory.

The audit was organized by Arizona’s state-level Republican senators in spite of their Democrat colleagues, who tried to halt the efforts with a lawsuit.

The attempt to halt the audit was half successful. A judge agreed on Friday to pause the audit, but only on one condition — that Democrats pay a $1 million bond. Democrats failed to make the payment, and so the audit resumed.

However, the judge also ordered state Republicans “to provide documents about their procedures for a hearing on Monday,” according to the Washington Examiner. A subsequent attempt by Republicans to have this order overturned ultimately failed.

The audit is being conducted by Cyber Ninjas, a Florida-based cybersecurity firm whose chief executive, Doug Logan, reportedly also believes that Trump won the 2020 race.

The audit was put together by state Republicans despite two previous audits, both reportedly conducted by state election officials, having found no evidence to substantiate the former president’s claims of widespread voter fraud.

Ironically, state Democrats share the former president’s concerns about security, albeit for vastly different reasons. Whereas Trump fears Democrats want to interfere in the audit, Democrats say the problem is that the audit itself is unsecure.

“At issue is the security of Maricopa County’s election equipment and every ballot cast in the 2020 general election. A judge ordered county elections officials to turn everything over to Senate Republicans for the audit,” according to AzFamily.com.

Prior to being turned over to Senate Republicans (and subsequently to Cyber Ninjas), the ballots had been held in a secure facility known as “The Vault.” The ballots are now being held at the Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, the location of the audit.

Democrats and their allies claim this location isn’t secure and that it’s these complaints that prompted them to file a lawsuit to block the audit.

But Trump doesn’t buy it.

“The Democrats, upon hearing the news of the Court Order, have sent 73 lawyers to Arizona in an effort to stop this recount and full transparency because THEY KNOW WHAT THEY DID!” the president wrote in the longer email mentioned earlier.

“The Democrats are desperate for the FRAUD to remain concealed because, when revealed, the Great States of Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, New Hampshire, and the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, would be forced to complete the work already started. The Arizona recount and examination will be on live TV (OAN) for all to watch.”
