Candace Owens rallies parents to start suing schools

Conservative activist Candace Owens says that parents have to start taking ‘woke’ schools to court when their offspring get bullied for resisting identity politics indoctrination in the classroom.

“Parents have to start speaking out, not just speaking out, but suing. You have to start suing these schools because they’re ruining the lives of young children,” Owens told “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo on the Fox News Channel in an interview embedded below in two parts.

Owens and her former Turning Point USA colleague, Charlie Kirk, appeared on the show to react to two very disturbing examples of far-left intolerance.

In one incident, a Minnesota high schooler who wanted to start up a Turning Point chapter was falsely accused of racial messaging, which prompted school-wide protests and even a law enforcement investigation. And in the other, a Virginia student was shamed for wanting to do a presentation about Owens for Black History Month.

Kirk characterized the two incidents as “a cultural fire alarm.”

“Where are teachers, where are the administrators, and where are the adults that are gonna start to stand up and realize that the next generation that’s standing up for freedom in our country, is worthy of protection…it takes courage to be a young conservative. It’s time for adults to start to protect young peoples’ right to organize and speak their mind,” Kirk declared.

Unfortunately, curriculum in many schools increasingly serves as a pretext for smearing one group and creating resentment among another merely on the basis of cosmetic diversity.

Many concerned parents have concluded that this is hardly a path toward actual inclusiveness and runs counter to the goals of the civil rights movement.

Indeed, any form of race-based discrimination in employment or education against any group violates a panoply of federal and state statutes and regulations, and is actionable in court, which may be to what Owens and Kirk allude.

Bartiromo then accused the mainstream media and Big Tech of “fanning the flames” in the context of Facebook trying to censor the recent story about the BLM co-founder’s extensive real estate portfolio.

Owens noted that these platforms did the same thing with the Hunter Biden laptop story.

“They’re trying to make sure the truth does not get out. They’re trying to protect the Democratic Party, and not only the Democratic Party, but the left-wing institutions in general. This thought process that we keep seeing that conservatives are not allowed to exist, that being conservative is backwards, and it’s wrong.”

Owens them implied that those who are complaining about systemic racism are engaging in systemic bullying.

She noted how it’s particularly egregious when the educational system perpetrates “smearing and libeling their own students.”

“These students having to transfer out of schools. This is systematic bullying that’s happening, but worse than that, it’s propagandist…,” she said. “This young girl, Julia picked me, a black person, for Black History Month and she was accused of being a racist. That is so twisted and perverted and wrong. It would be funny if it wasn’t so cruel that led to her actually having to transfer out of the school.”

In the second segment, both Owens and Kirk described NYC dad Andrew Gutmann as a hero for his gone-viral letter in which he blasted his pre-teen daughter’s pricey prep school for trying to brainwash the girl with race-obsessed progressive propaganda.

Owens advised parents to yank their kids out of any school (like Gutmann did) that is pushing what she characterized as social engineering.

“They’re taking your children, they’re undermining parents at every single point. The purpose for that is because they want to turn the children into government activists. What they want to do is to grow government; they want people to depend on government. They don’t want them to turn to mom and dad for answers. They want them to think mom and dad are wrong, are backwards and racist, and that these children are so smart and so woke….”

“The left loves talking about diversity,” Kirk added. “Their form of diversity, though, is everyone that looks different but thinks the same, no ideological diversity, no philosophical diversity, no — complete conformity.

“[Diversity of thought is] actually what always made America a vibrant and exciting country and…the most successful country ever to exist in the history of the world…we have to push back,” he added.

Corporate America is “piling on” this form of thought control, Bartiromo lamented, as she concluded the segment.
