California Rep. Maxine Waters, a powerful Democrat who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, seems to believe that breaking the law and using intimidation to try and force an impartial jury’s decision to be reversed is perfectly fine.

The Democrat lawmaker appeared at an anti-police “protest” late Saturday in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, the city where now-martyred black criminal suspect Daunte Wright was shot fatally during a traffic stop the previous weekend.

While at the “protest,” she not only urged attendees to ignore the city’s 11:00 pm curfew, which would be illegal, but also told them to “get more confrontational” and “make sure that they know that we mean business” if they don’t get what they want.

Listen:

One of the things these anti-cop activists want is for former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin to be convicted for the murder of black criminal suspect George Floyd. When asked by the protesters what they should do if Chauvin is instead acquitted, which is certainly possible, Waters called for more action on the “street.”

We’re looking for a guilty verdict. … I hope that we’re going to get a verdict that says guilty, guilty, guilty. And if we don’t, we cannot go away. … We gotta stay on the street, and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational, we’ve got to make sure they know that we mean business,” she said.

While she didn’t specify what she meant by “business,” anti-cop activists have a history of rioting, looting, arson, attacking the police, attacking bystanders and even killing people.

She added that a conviction on manslaughter wouldn’t be good enough. The only satisfactory outcome would be a conviction on murder, which is highly unlikely.

When then asked about an 11:00 pm Saturday to 6:00 am Sunday curfew that had been declared by Brooklyn Center Mayor Mike Elliott, Waters appeared just as combative.

I don’t think anything about curfew. I don’t know what curfew means. Curfew means that I want ya’ll to stop meeting, I want ya’ll to stop gathering. I don’t agree with that,” she said.

That’s not true. The curfew was installed in an attempt to prevent a recurrence of the sort of looting, rioting and vandalism that had happened earlier in the week.

However, when asked whether she herself intended to stay and violate curfew, Waters said no, though she reiterated her “hope” that others would.

“I’m not going to stay out here. I came here from Washington just to be here to make sure that I let my voice be heard among all those who’ve putting so much time on the street, so I’m hopeful that the protests will continue,” she said.

The Democrat lawmaker’s remarks come just days before the conclusion of Chauvin’s trial. While the outcome still remains known, the likelihood of an acquittal has jumped precipitously since the trial began weeks earlier thanks to an impressive performance by his defense team and an underwhelming performance by prosecutors.

Her remarks come just days after an influential Black Lives Matter extremist vowed that “all hell is gonna break loose” and buildings will likely be set “on fire” if Chauvin isn’t convicted of murder.

That Waters would call for “more” confrontation and so-called “protesting” amid such incendiary, violent vows for violence raises serious concerns.

Some argue she was basically inciting a riot — and perhaps even an insurrection:

Others wonder how the press would have reacted had then-President Donald Trump said something similar after the Jan. 6th riot:

Yet as of Sunday morning, not a single mainstream establishment outlet save for the New York post and Fox News had covered Waters’ rhetoric.

Instead, the bulk of the media was focused on praising Waters as a Diva for having told Democrat Rep. Jim Jordan, a Republican, to “shut your mouth” during a hearing earlier in the week.

The media reacted similarly when, years ago, the Democrat congresswoman told a mob of supporters to harass and intimidate Trump administration officials.

Last week Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued that there are two standards of justice in America — a lenient one for self-avowed Democrats, and a harsh one for anyone who’s not a Democrat.

Considering that Waters will once again most likely face no consequences for her rhetoric, it seems he may have been correct.
