Sen Paul blasts libs for ‘implying that people of certain races are not able to comply with rules’

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, a Republican, believes that the left’s raging animosity for the election reform measures being pursued in various states, most notably Georgia and Texas, stems entirely from their soft bigotry of low expectations.

Paul delivered his bold and likely accurate conclusion while speaking Friday evening on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” about the attack by Democrats and their media/corporate allies on Georgia and Texas’s reform measures.

The going consensus among the left is that the measures make it harder to vote — especially for minorities — because of the otherwise commonsense rules forcing voters to show an ID and preventing political parties from handing out “gifts.”

But as Paul noted, that’s not true, and all the people bellyaching about the measures would know that if they actually took the time to read them instead of regurgitating the propaganda spoon-fed to them by the Democrat-aligned media.

“What’s amazing to me is that the head of Delta, the head of Coca-Cola, they don’t even bother to read the bills. In fact, in Texas they admitted they didn’t even read the bills at all. All of these proposals are to try to make it easy to vote but hard to cheat,” he said.

The Republican lawmaker added, “There’s nothing Jim Crow about this. In fact, what is very insulting and really just gets to me is they’re implying that people of certain races are not able to comply with rules, show up, have a driver’s license or figure this out, and I think that’s very racist.”

A perfect example of this played out on Twitter Thursday thanks to the soft bigotry of high-level Democrat Party operative Marc Elias, an attorney who previously worked for Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, respectively, and who last year defended states against then-President Donald Trump’s election lawsuits.

On Thursday the Democrat attorney posted a photo of a Georgia driver’s license card and warned that some people may not be able to figure out which number on the card is their actual driver’s license number.

Given his previous rhetoric about how Georgia’s election reform measures are an act of “voter suppression” against “black voters,” it seemed very evident that he was suggesting in his tweet that black voters are too dumb to find their driver’s license number.

Or to be more specific, black people are too dumb to follow basic rules, or so Elias seemed to be suggesting.

“They’re thinking that there are certain groups of our people who are incapable of following basic rules. I don’t think it’s true. I think the trend lines for all the different races voting have been good in our country for 20 or 30 years, and all these election bills do is try to make it easier to vote but harder to cheat,” Paul noted.

He was right in more ways than he probably realized.

A poll conducted by the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs in January on behalf of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution found that a 74 percent majority of Georgia residents “support requiring voters to include a copy of their photo ID or other documentation in order to cast an absentee ballot by mail.”

Broken down by demographics, even 63 percent of black voters and 55 percent of Democrats supported the measure:

And an AP-NORC poll published this week found that a majority of all Americans — including 56 percent of Democrats — support “requiring voters to provide photo identification in order to vote.”

It seems the only ones who oppose voter ID laws are Democrat politicians, but because these politicians have so much sway and influence thanks to the perpetual drumbeat of the media, their false narrative is the one that’s become predominant.

Here’s how it works: Democrats craft a false narrative, “journalists” parrot the narrative 24/7, activists consume this narrative, activists become angry and, last but not least, activists begin pressuring corporations to bend the knee.

“It’s this extortion racket that’s been going on for a long time. Jesse Jackson would do it years ago. He would protest in front of a big corporation that wasn’t doing anything wrong until they gave money to his organization, then his protest would leave their organization. That’s what they’re doing now,” Paul explained.

The only difference is that it’s much easier to accomplish now because a stunning number of corporations have voluntarily chosen to go “woke.”

Take Coca-Cola.

“Coca-Cola is now telling people to apologize for being white, apologize for being arrogant, apologize for all these things supposedly that white people are doing, and that’s a very racist sort of philosophy. It’s this woke sort of critical race theory but it’s now infected a publicly traded company,” the senator said.
