Tucker digs into Biden’s so-called infrastructure plan: ‘5% on infrastructure, 95% on social engineering’

Fox News host Tucker Carlson tore into President Biden’s so-called infrastructure plan that comes with a $2 trillion price tag, being pushed before the ink is dry on his $1.9 trillion COVID relief deal. And much like the relief bill had little to do with the pandemic, the latest Democratic Party money grab has even less to do with highways and bridges.

More importantly, as Democrats set their sights on those dastardly racist highways, Carlson reminded viewers that they are footing the bill for what will be yet another monstrosity of a bill.

“If you watched Joe Biden sputter through his announcement of the administration’s $2 trillion ‘infrastructure plan,’ you may have been left with some questions,” Carlson said Thursday in the opening monologue of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“First, is this really about infrastructure? Bridges? Roads? Airports? Things we could actually use? Or is it yet another weird climate scheme/power grab/race-based redistribution plan? What exactly is this?” he asked.

In the end, $2 trillion is a whole lot of spending, coming on the heels of record debt.

“Won’t that kind of spending cause hyperinflation?” he asked. “If you print money like it’s not worth anything, doesn’t the value of that money decline? Normal people may have had questions like that.”

One thing you can count on is that the media will not be offering a fair assessment of the Biden plan.

Pointing to The New York Times, Carlson said the newspaper “approached the plan with the calculated enthusiasm of Izvestia applauding yet another record Soviet potato harvest.”

White House chief of staff Ron Klain was so grateful for the plug that he tweeted out the Times’ front page:

“Well, let’s be clear from the outset that this plan – whatever its merits – will not make your commute easier. Only about 5 percent of that $2 trillion will actually go to roads and bridges,” Carlson stated. “So, 5 percent on infrastructure, 95 percent on social engineering. That’s what Joe Biden calls a once-in-a-lifetime infrastructure bill. He’s right about part of it: It is once in a lifetime. If this bill passes, the next generation will life in a very different country.”

As for who’s picking up the tab, the Fox News host explained that taxes will be going up. YOUR taxes.

“Before we tell you what’s in the bill, a word about who will pay for it. In fact, we only need one word: You. Taxes are going up dramatically,” he insisted. “They didn’t have to, actually. Tax revenues no longer fund the ambitions of our political class…The Federal Reserve funds them. When politicians want something, they just print the money. It’s called Modern Monetary Theory.”

Suggesting that Biden wants to “punish you,” Carlson said the administration is calling for a tax increase of about $3 trillion over 10 years.

“That includes taxes on individual income and investments, as well as on corporations,” he noted. “This would make this the first major tax hike in 28 years.”

All of which will be shoved down America’s throat via the ever familiar crisis strategy.

Not that Biden is doing his part to fund the federal government.

“In 2017 and 2018, Joe Biden and his wife dodged payroll taxes on more than $13 million that they got from speaking fees and book royalties,” Carlson told viewers. “How did they do that?…The Wall Street Journal reported that the Bidens ‘classified the income as S-corporation profits rather than taxable wages.’ Surprised? Come on.”

Viewers were told that corporations will not be footing the bill, before Carlson turned to a “racist highway” in New Orleans being part of “modernizing” our roadways.

He explained that an activist named Amy Stelly has been demanding the removal of the Claiborne Expressway, which cuts through her neighborhood, because the road is “an eyesore and it contributes to pollution.”

“For years, she’s demanded local leaders get rid of it. But they refused. People use it. It’s an important stretch of road,” Carlson said. “But now the White House, and Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan, have decided that highway is an example of ‘historic inequity’ and that can be solved by ‘billions in new spending.'”

“In other words, it’s a racist highway, and we’ve got to pay to tear it down,” he said, adding that America can “expect a lot more highways to meet that fate.”

“People who believe highways are racist will get tens of billions of dollars as part of this plan,” Carlson said. “As long as they’re in what the Biden administration calls ‘underserved communities.'”

Billions more will go to historically black universities and other minority-serving institutions for research and development, and to “eliminate exclusionary zoning” and “needless barriers to producing affordable housing,” the Fox News host detailed. And for workplace development to “reduce racial inequities in job training and hiring.”

All in the name of saving our democracy. And, of course, there’s the Green New Deal and climate change.

Carlson ran a clip of new Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, claiming that “transportation is the leading contributor to climate change, contributing to a pattern of extreme weather events, which takes a severe toll on our infrastructure.”

“Every dollar we spend rebuilding from a climate-driven disaster is a dollar we could have spent building a more competitive, modern, and resilient transportation system that produces significantly lower emissions,” Buttigieg added.

In effect, the Biden Cabinet official is saying roads are causing hurricanes, as Carlson said the infrastructure bill includes $46 billion for the U.S. government to buy electric vehicles.

“Now, FBI agents can arrest you for sedition while driving Teslas,” he deadpanned.

Calling attention to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., whom he regularly refers to as “Sandy Cortez,” which was her name in school, demanding even more spending, to the tune of $10 trillion, Carlson mentioned the “consequences” of this recklessness.

He then detailed what those consequences are, not that Democrats care.

“What’s going on here? Trillions of dollars changing hands. This is looting,” Carlson concluded. “Just as their supporters did in Minneapolis last summer, the Biden people are looting the country. They’ve done nothing to build America. Susan Rice, Barack Obama, Ron Klain, and the rest of these people making these decisions haven’t created a single thing. They’re not creators. They’re takers, and they’ve gotten rich doing it.”

“And when it falls apart, they’ll be gone,” he said. “In the meantime, welcome to hyperinflation.”
