Reporters caught President Joe Biden leaving Delaware on Sunday and chose to ask him what he was giving up for Lent, according to a viral tweet from Bloomberg’s senior political reporter Jennifer Jacobs.

Press caught Biden before boarding Air Force One in Delaware and took advantage of the moment to ask what he’d chosen to sacrifice for the Catholic penitential period during the weeks leading up to Easter.

“I gave up all sweets for Lent. You have no idea how hard it is for me,” Biden replied.

“What’s the first sweet you’re looking forward to having?” the reporter asked. “Ice cream,” came the response.

Jacobs’ Twitter video of Biden’s “Ice cream” response attracted critics who mocked the press saying “Almost wished he’d just said, I gave up granting press access to the kids in cages” and “Love the hard-hitting stories @POTUS has to deal with.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki previously revealed Biden’s favorite ice cream flavor: “chocolate chip.”
