In what might give new meanings to the terms side hustle or pickup order, a DoorDash delivery driver who allegedly propositioned a customer as a condition of takeout food delivery is now an ex-DoorDash driver.
As if third-party strangers handling your meal and coming to your home, plus having extra fees tacked on, aren’t concerning enough, a female customer claims in this instance that the driver texted her with an indecent proposal.
After first asking her if she was single, and receiving a reply that she had a boyfriend, the driver texted (or perhaps sexted) that “First off, it’s late, wet rainy, and I’m tired. Doordash offered me this delivery when I was 10 miles sway, meaning there’s not many drivers out. So I’ll make you a deal. Help me out a little sexually and I’ll deliver the food. If not I’m gonna have to cancel.”
It was no deal, however. Instead, the understandably upset customer posted a screen shot of the texts to social media.
“After receiving the messages, the woman shared them online, where she wrote: ‘I can’t believe this happened. I feel incredibly unsafe because now this sick individual has both my phone number and my address. I called the customer service phone number and all they said was ‘He must’ve been tired.’ And reassigned my driver. I will not be using Doordash Drivers in the future if they’re going to allow this to happen,'” the Mirror of the U.K. reported.
It’s possible perhaps that this might have been a weird and objectionable prank, but serious or not, the tawdry texter is going to have to find another gig.
“This inappropriate and unacceptable behavior is never tolerated on the DoorDash platform. The Dasher involved was immediately deactivated, and we have been in contact with the customer to offer our support. We sincerely regret that this incident fell short of the experience we strive to provide every day,” the online food ordering/delivery platform told the New York Post.
The state where this incident occurred, if indeed it happened in America, has not yet been identified.

Although, inappropriate the driver does not have the customers phone number, the number is masked so you can’t get there phone number, nd once the food is delivered all the customers information is erased. Call the cops next time and have them waiting!
