Tucker Carlson: No country could survive border policies like Biden’s, but ‘none of them care’

On his way home from El Salvador, where he’d traveled earlier in the week to interview President Nayib Bukele, Fox News host Tucker Carlson discovered that U.S. citizens must take a coronavirus test before being allowed into the country.

“Before we left Central America this afternoon, we took a COVID test. … Of course, like everyone entering the United States by plane, we had no choice anyway. The airline demanded it. We couldn’t come home until we took the test,” he revealed Wednesday on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

He added, “That’s because, as they often tell us, our authorities are totally committed to keeping us safe from this deadly virus. So that’s the protocol if you’re coming from El Salvador to the United States legally. You take the test.”

Fair enough, no? Not exactly. What bothered Carlson was the added discovery that illegal aliens traveling into the United States don’t have to take a test.

“Under this administration, they don’t have to, and they don’t. Illegal aliens are now exempt from the public health measures that have been imposed by force on the rest of us by the U.S. government. Illegal aliens come and go as they please. No one seems to care if they spread deadly viruses to the rest of the American population,” he explained.

“It’s hard to believe that’s actually happening, but it is. We verified it today, when DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted in congressional testimony that the Biden administration is releasing foreign nationals into American neighborhoods without even bothering to check if they’ve been infected with COVID.”

What he said was mostly true. Testifying before a House panel Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that there were instances from the recent past of illegal immigrants being admitted into the U.S. without first being tested.

“There were times earlier when individuals were apprehended, and we sought to expel them, and we were unable to expel them, and we were compelled to release them, and we did not have the opportunity to test them,” he said.

However, he then claimed, “We have addressed that situation.”

But when pressed repeatedly by Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde to confirm that COVID-infected illegal aliens are therefore no longer being allowed into the country, Mayorkas demurred and refused to provide a clear answer.

The lack of confirmation from the Biden administration was irritating to Carlson, especially when factoring in the draconian restrictions that were forced upon a majority of the American people amid the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Given the authoritarian lockdowns the rest of us have lived under for the last year, the ones that have crushed the country, it’s hard to understand this policy as anything but an act of violence and hostility toward our country. It is an utter betrayal. They don’t care about you and they’re saying that clearly as they possibly can,” he said.

“Joe Biden is saying it too. A reporter recently asked Biden if he planned to visit the border to see for himself the disaster unfolding there. ‘Not at the moment,’ he replied dismissively, as if he had better things to do. We’d love to know what those things are,” Carlson said.

Indeed, President Joe Biden seems to refuse to take the crisis seriously. His congressional allies, meanwhile, keep trying to pin the blame for the crisis on his predecessor.

Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly been just as dismissive about the crisis. Asked earlier this week specifically about the illegal alien children being detained in Biden’s cages, she said she hadn’t been briefed about it yet.

All this bodes badly for the United States, according to Carlson, who argued Wednesday that the rampant illegal immigration that’s being allowed to occur under the Biden administration is transforming America into an “ugly,” “unhappy,” “crowded” country.

The irony is that it’s also hurting the countries these illegal immigrants are fleeing. During Carlson’s interview earlier in the week with Bukele, the El Salvadoran president said that the outflow of workers is bad for his country’s economy.

“It’s bad for the United States because immigration will go up and it’s bad for our country because people leaving the country will go up as well so it’s bad for both of us,” he noted.

It’s also bad for the U.S. because it’s allowing terrorists to sneak across the border.

“In the last day, we’ve learned that at least four people arrested recently at the southern border were identified by law enforcement as ‘known to be or reasonably suspected of being involved in terrorist activities,'” according to Carlson.

“That seems like a front page story. But it’s not. Democrats know perfectly well how unpopular open borders are with Americans of all races, so they are doing their best – hysterically – to suppress news about what is happening,” he added.

Indeed, Democrats are too busy blaming the crisis on Trump and accusing anyone who makes a fuss about the crisis of being a racist.

Carlson concluded his monologue by playing a clip of Biden urging illegals to remain in their home countries now so that he can set up a better system for them to come here.

“Oh, got it. So just don’t come yet, we’re not quite ready. And by the way, don’t trouble yourself. We’ll come to you. We’re going to spend whatever it takes to make the whole process easier for you, so that more people from your country can move to our country, entirely at our expense. That’s our promise to the world. We hate ourselves enough that we mean it,” Carlson said.

“Has any country ever promised something like this to the world? Can any country survive once it has? Joe Biden hasn’t thought about that. He doesn’t care. None of them care,” Carlson continued. “All they know is that the Democratic Party will never lose again once they pull this off, and that’s all that matters to them.”
