Recall adviser says Bernie Sanders needs a ‘reality check’ on who’s supporting effort to oust Gov Newsom

A senior adviser for the Recall Gavin Newsom campaign is calling out Senator Bernie Sanders over his harsh comments against the movement, informing him that many of his own supporters are signing the recall petition.

“I don’t think Bernie Sanders knows what his own followers and fans and voters are doing here in California,” Randy Economy said on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday.

“A lot of our people who have signed our petitions are Bernie-crats, because they’re sick and tired of the mess that’s been created by Gavin Newsom [and] the Democratic Party here,” Economy stated.

Sanders sent out a tweet on Monday criticizing the recall movement: “Right-wing Republicans in California are trying to recall Gavin Newsom for the crime of telling people to wear masks and for listening to scientists during COVID,” he angrily tweeted. “Extremist Republicans have done enough to undermine democracy already. We must all unite to oppose the recall in California.”

Speaking to Ainsley Earhardt, Economy flatly stated that Sanders’ comments are “nonsensical.”

“[Sen. Sanders] needs to kind of get a little reality check on what his troops are doing out here in the Golden State because when he makes nonsensical comments like that, it’s just a poor reflection upon the reality of what we’re doing here in California,” he noted.

The recall has collected approximately 2 million unverified signatures, about half a million more than necessary. 1.5 million verified signatures are required for the recall to proceed.

The effort has until March 17 to collect and submit signatures for final verification by the state. They are proceeding at a whirlwind pace and pulling out all the stops to recall Newsom.

“You know, it’s been an emotional roller coaster for so many of us, including me personally because we can just look at the collateral damage that Gavin Newsom has done to so many millions of Californians’ lives, whether it be the small business owner in East Los Angeles or the restaurant worker up in Oakland,” Economy shared. “Everything that he has done during this pandemic, he’s done wrong.”

“We’re going to have a big election, a huge election that everybody in the world is going to be watching,” he proclaimed.

Economy is urging anyone and everyone that wants to sign the petition or is interested in learning more about the effort to visit RecallGavin2020.com.

Sanders has been busy in more states than just California. He got a toehold in Nevada five years ago when he was facing off with Hillary Clinton. Sanders got to work with Democratic Socialists of America to take over the state and he just accomplished his goal there.

In an alarming and stunning development, the entire slate of the Nevada Democratic Party resigned on Saturday after Democratic Socialists of America candidates swept the election for party leadership. They cleaned out the coffers on the way out the door.

Sanders issued a statement following the political coup. “I congratulate Judith Whitmer on becoming chair of the Nevada Democratic Party. She knows that we must invest in year-round grassroots organizing focused on the principles of economic, social, racial, and environmental justice,” Sanders crowed.

“If we build a political movement that speaks to working people, we will continue to build on our political success in Nevada,” Sanders declared.
