Pro-Trump event in NYC ends with numerous arrests as Trump supporters clash with counter protesters

Trump supporters turned out in force for a parade in New York City on Friday unfurling a 50-foot “Trump 2024” flag and then clashed with Antifa and Black Lives Matter protesters resulting in numerous arrests. The event was promoted as the “Trump Save America Flag Unfurling.”

The large pro-Trump group planned on marching from Trump Tower to Times Square but it wasn’t long before a confrontation ensued after a counter-protest was staged. The parade proceeded down Fifth Avenue and the Trump-supporting crowd flew thin blue line flags, Gadsden flags, American flags, and huge banners. One of the banners was a portrayal of an evil, demonic-looking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who was ripping up a copy of Trump’s 2020 State of the Union speech into pieces. That flag was allegedly laid out right in front of Trump Tower.

The New York Police Department attempted to keep counter-protesters away as the group headed for Times Square. They were not entirely successful and there were multiple face-offs and arrests as well as one officer being hospitalized due to injuries in the melee. It’s believed someone threw bleach in his eyes. There is no word on the status of the officer.

There was plenty of video of the event. Video journalist Ford Fischer from News 2 Share shared a video taken of a counter-protester confronting a group brandishing “Asians for Trump” signs. That radical counter-protester got in the face of a Trump supporter and screamed at them, “Fight me, Fight me then!”

“As the rally rounded into the pedestrian plaza on Broadway and 42nd street, the group stopped and several counter-protesters began yelling that someone had a knife,” Freedom News TV stated as they recorded the incident.

Freedom News TV reporter Oliya Scootercaster posted detailed footage of the Trump parade. It included the arrests of a number of counter-protesters who got violent and confrontational during the event. The NYPD arrested one protester who had a hammer concealed in his jacket. The man claimed it was for his “protection.”

Police halted the Trump supporters from going beyond 43rd street. The group unfurled their flag once more. Water was thrown onto the flag at that point. Police singled out one counter-protester and then chased him into a LOFT store at 42nd and Broadway. He was arrested on the floor of the store.

Various weapons were seized during the event. Those included a knife and brass knuckles.

“Four arrests were made for various crimes, including assaults on police officers and weapons possession,” the NYPD said on Twitter. “Violent actions will not be tolerated from those who claim to be ‘peaceful protestors.'”

After Trump appeared at the Conservative Political Action Conference last Sunday, the former president’s supporters demonstrated they are still firmly in his camp.

CPAC attendees couldn’t get enough of the former president. “But who knows, I may even decide to beat them for a third time,” Trump stated at CPAC to massive cheers from the audience. Many took that as an unofficial announcement that Trump will run in 2024.
