Fox News’ Jedediah warns Trump against making ‘divisive speech’ at CPAC

On Sunday’s airing of “Fox & Friends,” Jedediah Bila warned that former President Trump should be careful not to divide the country even more than it already is at his upcoming Conservative Political Action Conference appearance and speech.

During the segment, a long list of Trump’s policies were ticked off that Biden is now doing away with in what is being called the “great undoing.” It was noted that Trump will “certainly maintain a strong guiding voice on what the Republican Party will be.”

That list included a number of items, and later more foreign policy issues such as China and Iran would be added to it:

  • Undo expansion of immigration enforcement.
  • Rejoin Paris Climate Agreement.
  • Cancel Keystone XL pipeline.
  • Undo regulatory approval process.
  • End 1776 Commission.
  • Reverse ban on transgender people joining the military.
  • Reverse lifting of tariffs on aluminum imports from UAE.
  • Reverse industry-recognized apprenticeship programs (IRAP).

Trump’s CPAC speech will be his first public speaking appearance since he left office. Bila said that she expects Trump to speak about Biden and that it would be very hard not to criticize him, but she also admonished, “I would urge some caution.”

“It’s very hard for an ex-president who has just left the presidency to not be critical of a president that comes in and is now undoing all of his stuff. I’m sure that President Trump felt really strongly about those issues and was really passionate about those decisions and felt that he was representing a lot of people in making them,” Bila said.

“So it’s really hard to get on stage so soon after and not create a divisive speech…But the timing needs to be thought about a little bit. The country’s really divided right now. We just had the Capitol riots. Everyone’s kind of at each other’s throats. So if anything, I’m hoping that that message is one of positivity, of coming together, but it’s hard. That is not easy to do when you’re an ex-president and you’re in the initial moments of leaving office,” the former “View” co-host stated.

Fox News host Pete Hegseth pointed out that Trump was formally canceled on Twitter where his account was banned and his voice was silenced. His speech at CPAC will once again let his voice be heard by conservatives and his supporters.

Bila’s reaction to the announcement of Trump’s CPAC speech was not warmly received on Twitter.

Others took the opportunity to malign Trump while some worried about the legal ramifications of the speech for the former president.

Trump’s appearance at CPAC is sure to be a big draw. But his former Vice President Mike Pence has reportedly turned down an invitation to make an appearance at the conservative gathering.
