‘Totally bonkers!’ Sarah Palin throws down with Piers Morgan as segment on election integrity goes off the rails

Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan and Sarah Palin locked horns in a heated interview on Tuesday concerning former President Trump and alleged election fraud. Morgan insisted there was no evidence of voter fraud and Palin was ready and willing to spar over it.

Palin adamantly claims there were “shenanigans” in the 2020 presidential election. Piers Morgan demanded that she admit it was a fair election and that Biden won in the end. That led to a tense exchange of political opinion.

The first thing that happened was when co-host Susanna Reid tried to box Palin into a corner forcing her to admit that Trump actually told supporters to riot. Palin was having none of that argument.

She stated: “The President told those who attended the rally to go protest peacefully and patriotically and legally, so these idiots who did storm the Capitol, and now they are blaming the President for their own action, that is a symptom of a societal problem where people cannot take responsibility for their stupid and criminal acts… The media has made it sound like President Trump instigated criminal activity, which is bull.”

After that Piers Morgan jumped in and accused Trump of perpetuating an “absolute lie” that there has been widespread fraud that “has never been proven.” Morgan claimed that Trump whipped his mob into a frenzy.

“There is no question they were whipped up to [storm the Capitol] because they believed their president, who told them the election had been stolen, fraudulently stolen,” Morgan told Palin. “That was a lie, wasn’t it?”

“The president has been insisting, so many Americans have been insisting, that our elections are run legally, and transparently — and when there were shenanigans, obviously, in so many of the polling areas, the president has insisted that we look into where all these votes had come from,” Palin defensively shot back.

“But the election wasn’t stolen, was it Sarah Palin?!” Morgan badgered her. “Let’s be honest. Let’s be clear … The election was won fair and square by a thumping win by Joe Biden. Do you accept that?”

“I want to see that our elections, and every polling place, is run cleanly,” Palin retorted.

“The question was do you accept the election victory by Joe Biden?!” Reid countered as they talked over the top of Palin’s responses.

“This is crazy!” Palin angrily replied. “You guys invited me to come on. Let me finish please.”

“You didn’t answer my question!” Morgan snarled.

“Let me finish, OK?!” Palin snapped.

“Why don’t you answer the question?” Morgan said once again attempting to bully the former vice presidential nominee.

Palin again was insistent, “No, let me finish. I am talking about clean elections and I know that shenanigans do take place in elections, as a Governor I witnessed that.”

Morgan said: “Sarah, you cannot filibuster us, now let’s go back to the question do you accept that Joe Biden…”

Palin interjected: “Ok let’s go back to the question then about this mob rule.

“Let’s go back to the first question, we never even got to finish the topic of the rioters in the Capitol.”

“Did Joe Biden win the election?” Morgan reiterated.

Palin stated: “Can we please finish the topic, why did you skip on over that?”

Palin refused to be backed into a corner over it.

The debate continued, but Palin once again said that there were “shenanigans” involved in the election process. When repeatedly asked by Morgan about whether Biden won the election, she said: “Well, evidently he did because he is sworn in as our President but no one will convince me nor anyone else with common sense and a sense of justice… that there were no shenanigans going on… how many polling areas had to produce their voter rolls and they showed that there were more votes than there were voters in certain districts? Is that not a problem right there? What about all the dead people who voted?”

“I say this with the utmost respect to you, you’re sounding totally bonkers!” Morgan posited. “And part of the problem for the Republican Party is that people like you, high-level members, high-profile members of the party are still perpetuating this utter load of nonsense.”

Palin asked the host, “How am I perpetuating nonsense when I’m telling you examples?!”

“That somehow there is fraud and that stopped Trump [from] winning,” Morgan insisted. “Part of the problem for the Republican Party is that people like you – high-level members – are still perpetuating this utter load of nonsense that somehow there was fraud that stopped Trump winning. Trump got hammered in this election!”

Palin was incredulous at one point: “Wonderful, great! I’m telling you, I’m trying to make it easier for you. I sound bonkers for trying you tell you the truth! Because you won’t listen to your guest who is trying to let you know where some voter fraud was manifested. It certainly was!”

Morgan slammed her yet again: “Sarah, the trouble is the only dead people that really we should be focused on are the people who died at the capitol at the insurrection which was sparked by the inciting words of the president of the United States, aided by people like Rudy Giuliani.”

Palin would not let it go: “I do not know if the degree of the fraud, the shenanigans, had it been changed, would have resulted in a different outcome… there was not more of a follow up about who all these people were who voted.”
