Last week The Washington Post published a “Perspective” piece arguing that former President Donald Trump must “never” be allowed to have his own presidential library like every other president in modern American history.

But Fox News host Greg Gutfeld disagrees. He believes Trump should be allowed to have his own presidential library — and that the library should be dedicated to the “failing” “fake news” media, as the former president would describe them.

In a monologue Monday on Fox News’ “The Five,” Gutfeld explained why.

“The Washington Post has made a surprising suggestion — Donald Trump deserves no presidential library. I could list the reasons why, or you could just look them up in Trump’s presidential library … but, oh wait: no library!” he began.

“But it’s just another example of the great erase. Before they used to rewrite history, but that meant they had to learn it first, and learning hurts, so now they just eliminate it. Which saves time. You don’t have to burn books if you torch the whole library.”

“Of course, this idea proves that if anyone needs a library — it’s Trump — because no president has been so picked apart before. Which continues a month after he left office,” Gutfeld continued.

‘Trump’ is a word in the headlines of most mainstream papers every single day. That’s because obsessions are hard to quit. And so the library should really be about them: the dying media class,” he said.

Indeed.

Gutfeld then played clips of mainstream establishment media figures obsessing over the debunked Russian collusion delusion hoax and conspiracy theory, obsessing over Trump’s failed impeachment (the first one) and obsessing over the discredited sexual assault and gang rape accusations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“You could have an entire wing devoted to” each of these fake stories, he said.

And then to top it off, there could be a whole floor dedicated solely to “the threats made toward the administration and his supporters, being half the country.”

“Call it the ‘Kathy Griffin Annex of Derangement.’ And another floor just on CNN’s media malpractice with a dunking booth for a robot Jim Acosta. Or get the real one! — He might be free, and he loves getting dunked on,” Gutfeld continued.

“The point is, if we can’t rely on the people we rely on now, like, say, Jim Acosta to give the news straight, what happens when they get older and dumber? Soon, they’ll be saying Biden birthed these amazing vaccines, as well as those Middle East peace agreements.”

In fact, some on the left have already begun crediting President Joe Biden for the coronavirus vaccines that were developed under the Trump administration:

“Anyway, Trump’s library could be the greatest library ever, perhaps with a 3-D hologram of Trump personally giving you a tour. And of course, there will be books. Thousands of them. They’ll all be ‘The Art of the Deal,’ but what do you expect?” Gutfeld added, concluding his monologue.

He then asked his colleagues for their thoughts on what Trump’s library should include.

Co-host Jesse Watters replied first by calling for the following:

  • A “witch hunt wing which features the highly conflicted Robert Mueller and his 13 band of angry Democrats”;
  • A “fake news wing which features a cutout of Jim Acosta and a laundry list of all the fake news with a real-time [Sean] Hannity fact-check besides it”;
  • A “Trump rally wing where you, along with other visitors, could go and experience what it’s like to be inside a Trump rally chanting ‘lock her up’ along with the rest of the visitors and watching a hologram of Trump dance the YMCA“;
  • A “very stable genius wing where you can look at all of his accomplishments, domestic and foreign”;
  • And a “social media wing where you can see every single tweet the president has ever tweeted and there is no censorship.”

Watters also argued that the “dunk tank” proposed by Gutfeld should have “Jeff Sessions, not Jim Acosta,” in light of Trump constantly “dunking” on him.

Meanwhile, co-host Dana Perino said that, no matter what, the library must be the “biggest ever” in the history of libraries.

“No one will have ever seen anything like it in the world. It would be, you know that Putin video of his palace that has a hundred million views? That’ll be nothing like this library. It will be bigger and bolder and the best library the world has ever seen,” she said.

She referenced the Russian-language video below:

When her turn to speak came, co-host Katie Pavlich suggested that the former president’s “diet coke button” and his letters from North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un should be included somewhere in the library as well.

She then closed off the segment by predicting that any construction/architecture companies that sign up to work on the library will likely face media harassment.

“They will then seek out all the construction companies and all the architects who dare to say that they’re going to work on the project, and then they’ll boycott them and then they’ll try to get rid of all their other contracts that they have,” she said.

Knowing how vindictive and hateful the media tend to be, she was probably 100 percent right.
