Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., was a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump and his pro-America agenda, and shares a similar trait in that he is willing to take the fight to the opposition.

Even when the opposition is a fellow Republican, which explains why Gaetz plans to travel out west later this week to challenge Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., after she voted to impeach Trump — trying to play the tough guy role, Cheney set aside her principles to essentially challenge Gaetz’s manhood.

Well, a Cheney spokesperson did, telling the Washington Examiner, “Rep. Gaetz can leave his beauty bag at home. In Wyoming, the men don’t wear make-up.”

This being a shot at the lawmaker for understanding the importance of visual media. Gaetz appears often on Fox News and other cable news networks.

Gaetz is heading west on Thursday to push for the replacement of Cheney as a GOP representative of the state and as House Republican Conference chair.

Taking to social media, the Florida lawmaker said, “We can’t have leaders who would rather let America decline than embrace the America First agenda.”

Donald Trump Jr. offered his services in the endeavor to oust Cheney.

“Can’t join in person, but can I Skype in or call?” the former president’s eldest son and namesake tweeted.

According to CBS News, more than 115 of the 211 House Republicans back Cheney’s removal, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has expressed concerns over her leading a group of 10 Republicans voting to impeach Trump — McCarthy did say that he still supports Cheney.

The Wyoming Republican Party ripped Cheney over the impeachment vote.

“There has not been a time during our tenure when we have seen this type of an outcry from our fellow Republicans, with the anger and frustration being palpable in the comments we have received. Our telephone has not stopped ringing, our email is filling up, and our website has seen more traffic than at any previous time. The consensus is clear that those who are reaching out to the Party vehemently disagree with Representative Cheney’s decision and actions.”

Gaetz pushed back when he was accused of being motivated by ambition, this being part of an alleged civil war within the GOP.

“I do not want her job,” he tweeted. “I unequivocally am not seeking a position in House Leadership. I also know Wyoming can do better.”

Appearing last week on Fox Business’ “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” Gaetz went after GOP leadership as a whole, and accused Cheney of “spitting in the eyes” of Republican voters.

Adding to Cheney’s problems was the petty response to Gaetz, offered instead of a full-throated reply to his charges.
