Blue-check Twitter is mocking Fox News Channel host Harris Faulkner for a supposed inability to grasp the concept of satire or symbolism in connection with a pro-Biden Time magazine cover, but there is a larger point in play.
On The Faulkner Focus, the anchor took Time to task for its cover art of Joe Biden’s day one in the Oval Office “trashed by his predecessor as he looks out at the nation on fire.” She didn’t like it much, especially considering the corporate media’s humorlessness or disingenuousness when it comes to criticism of any Democrat.
“If you saw that [cover] on the opposite, with a conservative president and it was, you know, all over the place, mainstream media would be ‘on fire’ about it. But with Joe Biden, it’s okay to do this? That’s not real. That picture isn’t real. I thought we were a nation who cared about the facts.”
In a back-handed way, anti-Trump, former Obama press aide Johanna Maska agreed with Faulkner. “I think we need to have like real fair discussions about where we are as a country, how we are inciting these divisions, and I think it’s completely fair to question this depiction when there are pictures of the division that speak more loudly than this.”
“Let’s see if others in the mainstream media have the gumption to call out the fact that that’s just a complete lie. And I cleaned that up; well, I’m not much of a cusser anyway,” Faulkner concluded the segment.

As alluded to above, the only thing that the condescending media predictably called out is Faulkner’s presumed lack of understanding that the cover was meant to be figurative.
As TownHall columnist Derek Hunter implied, however, no such satirical cover would have ever emerged from a legacy media outlet if Biden was in office during the summer-long riots that swept that nation that journalism industry insisted were mostly peaceful protests.
The same media labeled the universally condemned and inexcusable riot at the U.S. Capitol perpetrated by a relatively small group of lawbreakers among thousands of mostly peaceful rally attendees an insurrection.
Is the Oval Office in Seattle? Did BLM-ANTIFA blow through there? https://t.co/PCHMPHXi4r

Satire is fine, but again, the media spent four-plus years sowing divisions in America while claiming President Trump was divisive. during the Trump administration, the media also breathlessly broadcast or published mostly anonymous-sourced, anti-Trump “bombshells” that fell apart within days if not hours along with various petty allegations that turned out to be exaggerations that didn’t pass a common-sense test.
In one of countless examples of media malpractice, news outlets insisted that the Hunter Biden laptop/influence peddling scandal was a conspiracy theory unworthy of reporting, but the Trump-Russia collusion hoax was legit.
They also mocked President Trump’s accurate vow that a COVID vaccine would become available by the end of the year. CNN, which never learns, recently ran with a fake news story that the Biden team had to start from scratch in the rollout, which even Dr. Fauci debunked. And of course, according to the media, without evidence, there was no “widespread” fraud in Election 2020, whatever widespread or non-widespread means.
Is it any wonder that trust in media has fallen to an all-time low?

While liberal blue-check Twitter loved the artwork from an increasingly irrelevant publication which, outside of social media, no one other than patients in a dentist office waiting room might actually see, others seemed to be on the same page, as it were, with Harris Faulkner. Here is just a sample:
Don’t overplay this, the riot was bad but I don’t want to head excuses about everything being inherited from Trump. Europe is in crisis too, don’t count on eight years if excuses and shady deals are all that is on the agenda.

US media is way too one sided, it helps no one. What a pitiful state for your great country. Get well soon guys.

I’m not pro trump nor pro biden but i feel this is exaggeration and bias. He took the job and people expect better than this 😞

That’s your idea of unity and reconciliation? You’re exactly the same as the press in my country: biased, you see no mistakes on your side; with the difference that we have a dictador un Venezuela; a real one!

Do the people at Time have Biden watching Washington DC burn in June, or have they moved the White House to Seattle?

I’m appalled and disgusted, but not surprised your failing rag would publish this untrue depiction.

Looks like the Whitehouse moved to the CHAZ in portland. It represents what the bailing out of anarchists and BLM does.
