After months and months and months of doing virtually nothing to stop left-wing extremists — or insurrections, if you will — as they rioted in Portland and Seattle, the left has suddenly decided that NOW is the time to enact tough justice.

And so when the Biden administration deployed federal agents to use tear gas against the extremists as they rioted in Portland on Inauguration Day, nobody batted an eye.

Nor did anyone on the left, from congressional Democrats to mainstream media figures, cry foul when officers with the Federal Protective Service rushed in Saturday evening to protect the city’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement center.

See what happened below (*Graphic content):

Now recall how the left reacted to the same measures being applied against left-wing extremists during the height of the summer riots.

“The federal crackdown in Portland is ‘legal.’ That’s the problem with it,” The Washington Post lamented

“Were the Actions of Federal Agents in Portland Legal?” The New York Times asked.

“More than a dozen mayors join Portland in asking Trump administration to withdraw federal forces,” CNN reported.

Yet as of this Sunday, there appeared to be no new reports by these outlets bemoaning the Biden administration’s decision to deal with the extremists in Portland via the exact same methods that the Trump administration had employed.

The same was true of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who’d been so eager last summer to smear federal officers as “Trump’s stormtroopers.”

Similarly, there have been no shrieks of rage over Seattle officials suddenly deciding to finally begin holding the city’s rioting left-wing extremists accountable.

“People who destroy property during street protests will be arrested and prosecuted under a tighter new policy coordinated with Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes, interim police Chief Adrian Diaz announced Saturday,” The Seattle Times has confirmed.

“Diaz told reporters he has wanted to crack down on property destruction for months, and that in his opinion, violent protesters and vandals aren’t promoting a cause.”

Yet this policy is only just NOW being pursued. Why is that? Journalist and radio show host Jason Rantz of Seattle station KTTH certainly has a theory:

“I have been in conversation with the city attorney’s office, Pete Holmes, and he will be prosecuting these cases, from now on,” interim Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz reportedly told reporters.

“When we don’t have any form of accountability for people — and many of them that are coming from outside the city — they will continue to do that destruction, and we can’t have that.”

True, but when former President Donald Trump said the same thing during a speech amid the George Floyd riots on June 1st, he was accused of being a dictator and fascist.

“The destruction of innocent life and the spilling of innocent blood is an offense to humanity and a crime against God. America needs creation not destruction, cooperation not contempt, security not anarchy, healing not hatred, justice not chaos. This is our mission and we will succeed, 100 percent we will succeed. Our country always wins,” he said from the Rose Garden at the time.

“That is why I am taking immediate presidential action to stop the violence and restore security and safety in America. I am mobilizing all available, federal resources, civilian and military, to stop the rioting and looting to end the destruction and arson and to protect the rights of law abiding Americans, including your second amendment rights.”

Now observe how Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden responded to the speech:

Yet as of Sunday, there wasn’t a single tweet on his timeline complaining about the Biden administration’s deployment of federal authorities in Portland.

Nor were there any complaints from Vice President Kamala Harris, who at the time had tweeted that what Trump had said were”the words of a dictator.”

So what changed, Madam Vice President?
