Lawmaker says 75% of National Guard potential threat because they’re white and didn’t vote for Biden

Amid reports that U.S. defense officials are worried about an insider attack or other threat from some of the 25,000 National Guard troops being deployed to the nation’s capital to help secure Joe Biden’s inauguration, the FBI is reportedly vetting soldiers for sympathies toward political extremists — on the right, of course.

Democrats and their corrupt media allies are whipping the nation into a frenzy ahead of Inauguration Day, exploiting the storming of the U.S. Capitol to justify the extreme lockdown of Washington, and Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., did his part by stating that because Nation Guard members are overwhelmingly white and most did not vote for Biden, that pose a threat.

Appearing on CNN, where anchor Jim Sciutto noted current and former members of the U.S. military and law enforcement took part in the U.S. Capitol protest, he asked Cohen about his level of concern of an insider threat?”

“Well it certainly raises warning,” Cohen said, referencing Egypt President Anwar Sadat and India Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, noting that they “were killed by their own people.”

He then delved into the race of National Guard troops, before suggesting that 75% of the predominantly white soldiers “might want to do something” — a clear reference to violence.

“I think the Guard is 90-some-odd-percent I believe male, only about 20% of white males voted for Biden,” Cohen said. “You gotta figure that in the Guard, which is predominantly more conservative and I see that on my social media, and we know it, there are probably not more than 25% of the people there protecting us that voted for Biden, the other 75% are in the class that would be the large class of folks who might want to do something.”

This blasphemous attack on the National Guard coming from not only a member of the House Judiciary Committee, but chairperson of the Constitution and Civil Justice subcommittee.

Surprisingly, Sciutto pushed back to say that voting for Trump “does not make you an insider.”

When Cohen was asked if he has seen any evidence to substantiate how broad an inside threat may be, the lawmaker replied, “Actually not. But you know, you draw circles of people, and in the first circle who work for Trump and not for Biden as far as people who would be within the zone of folks who you would be suspect of.”

“The suspect group is large,” he concluded.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., who heads up the National Republican Senatorial Committee, ripped Cohen for his “ignorant assumptions.”

“Dem Congressman believes some of our troops are a threat merely because they’re white & male. Our military members dedicate their lives to serving & protecting our country. Anyone who questions their ability to do so based on ignorant assumptions such as these should be ashamed,” Scott tweeted.

Scott was far from the only one expressing outrage over Cohen’s inappropriate, even reckless remarks about an inside threat.

Radio host Vince Coglianese tweeted the Democrat lawmaker’s assertions are “full-blown insane.”

The great irony here is that while Cohen denigrates the Guard as a potential security threat to Joe Biden, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is posing with armed troops for a photo op, giving them a “challenge coin” to mark their mission of protecting the legislative seat of the U.S. government during the recent protests at the Capitol.

In the end, Cohen is a Democrat under Pelosi’s protection, so expecting accountability is a moot point. After all, the speaker stood by Rep, Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., after it was reported that he had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy — who helped finance his election to office.
