President-elect Joe Biden’s behavior at the end of a press conference this weekend once again raised questions about his cognitive functions.
After a briefing in which he announced new members of his science team, Biden turned to leave but appeared to be confused about his next steps, as seen in a video shared on Saturday. The Democrat’s actions, and the look of confusion, raised concerns on social media and prompted comments about the 25th Amendment from Donald Trump Jr.
“We’re going to lead with science and truth,” Biden said during a speech in Delaware on Saturday as he introduced his new appointees. “We believe in both.”
At the end of the event, the Democrat noted that he had gone past the allotted time and turned to leave. A video posted by podcast host Josh Lekach showed Biden reaching for a notebook on a nearby table, then looking around a bit confused before walking off the platform.
Yikes. If he was a Republican the 25th amendment talk would be trending and rightfully so. pic.twitter.com/ohKjOSdoJI

“Yikes. If he was a Republican the 25th amendment talk would be trending and rightfully so,” Trump Jr. tweeted along with the video.
Following the January 6 violence that erupted at the U.S. Capitol Building, Democrats crusaded to have President Donald Trump removed from office before the end of his term, calling on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and find that “the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”
Although Pence declined to make the move, Democrats went on to vote to impeach Trump a second time last week for allegedly inciting a riot, and talk of using the 25th Amendment to remove him because of his comments and actions continued.
In a speech he delivered at Alamo, Texas last week, the president asserted that the 25th Amendment is of “zero risk” to him, but would “come back to haunt Joe Biden.”
“As the expression goes, be careful what you wish for,” he said.
The video of Biden from the weekend sparked much commentary on Twitter where many expressed the same view as the president’s son on the double standards.

If Trump did this they’d never stop complaining

There was another debate about the accuracy of the video, with some claiming that it was edited to make the former vice president look bad. Full video showed that there were questions being asked and Biden was listening as he made his move to exit.
Wrong. Someone was speaking, and Biden was listening to them. The creator of the clip removed the audio from that part to present Biden in a bad light.

The video above is misleading for several reasons:
– The frame is smaller than the original, making it appear that he was alone on stage (he was waiting for others)
– The sound is cut at the end where you would have heard others moving exiting the briefing. Here’s the original pic.twitter.com/Tx9vw0uuEo

But Lakach countered the criticisms, saying that Biden’s “facial expressions say it all.”
In the “unedited” video Biden was asked if there was a chance he wouldn’t get inaugurated and he didn’t answer.
“Is there any scenario where you would not be taking the oath outside on Wednesday?”
Still odd behavior! pic.twitter.com/5sXbEFQw5x

He also called out Twitter for labeling the clip “manipulated video.”
Twitter just slapped my tweet with a “MANIPULATED MEDIA” warning.
Ironic considering Twitter’s methodology is manipulated media. pic.twitter.com/CFEXUHZZPy

Other Twitter users jumped in to drive home the point.
The clip is not edited to make it look any better, but even unedited it is not good. He has a slightly bewildered and confused look on him that he did not have in younger days, and people around him seem to be treating him like he is going senile & doesn’t know his surroundings.

It seems like he is listening to the questions, and then processes what to do next…four decades of political experience says to give an answer, but his current instruction is to just leave.

The point of the video is that he looks extremely confused after picking the folder up. that is why it was zoomed in. There is legitimate questions on his cognitive function as a president on both sides.

This is literally an unedited clip of the man looking confused after leaving the podium. It is not manipulated yet it is tagged as such. pic.twitter.com/Tpp8TQKpU1

Wide angle has not helped: contrast how everybody except Biden knew what to do and where to go at the end

I see four other people who know what they are doing exiting the stage and a confused elderly man lost with without his handlers. Am I missing something?

Yea he deteriorating rapidly. It’s sad to see them put him on display like that but 🤷🏼♀️. I hardly care after the hell they put on Trump.
