Megyn Kelly tells Cuomo spokesman to ‘F right off’ after dismissing Janice Dean’s trauma and stick to weather

Former NBC and Fox News host Megyn Kelly torched a spokesman for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo after his disparaging dismissal of meteorologist Janice Dean.

Kelly reacted on Twitter Thursday to Cuomo spokesperson Richard Azzopardi’s comments about Dean, telling him he could “F right off” for dismissing the credibility of the Fox News senior meteorologist. Kelly and many others lit into the Democrat governor and his spokesman for the cheap shot at Dean, who lost both of her in-laws in New York due to COVID-19.

In an appearance on Fox News Tuesday, Dean had blasted the “disaster” rollout of the coronavirus vaccination in New York, saying it was “just another leadership failure from this governor.”

Dean has been in a long-waged war of words with the New York leader who was regaled as a hero, even being awarded an Emmy for his coronavirus press conferences despite the fact that his policies sent COVID-19 patients back to nursing homes, likely leading to thousands of deaths. Deans’ husband lost both of his parents and the meteorologist has been exposing Cuomo and his mishandling of the pandemic ever since.

“I have covered this governor for 10 months now, and the one thing I can tell you, he’s more concerned with what he looks like as a governor,” Dean said on Fox & Friends Tuesday. “He had a book, he won an Emmy, he had a COVID poster, going around celebrating himself.”

Earlier this month, Dean accused Cuomo’s office of trying to “bully” her ahead of an opinion piece she was writing.

Azzopardi responded to Dean’s latest attack on DailyMail.com.

“Every state has had issues with vaccine distribution because of lack of federal funds but we’re rapidly ramping up distribution and currently have administered more than 60 percent of the vaccines we have,” he said, predictably blaming President Trump’s administration, before adding a sexist and immature jab at Dean.

“Last I checked, she’s not a credible source on anything except maybe the weather,” he said.

“Wow, what an a-hole,” Townhall’s Guy Benson quipped in a tweet reacting to the comment which unleashed a wave of backlash, and an emotional word of gratitude from the meteorologist.

Megyn Kelly concurred, tweeting that Dean is an expert on the subject because she had to become one, as “the media didn’t give a damn.”

“And when she spoke up, the media mocked her for going beyond weather-just like Cuomo did here,” Kelly added. “And all of those ppl can F right off.”

Kelly’s fiery tweet was appreciated by Dean who gave her thanks in response.

Colleagues and others also reached out in Dean’s defense and slammed the governor and his spokesman.

“Worst Governor in America and his heartless sycophant hacks,” U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York tweeted. “After @JaniceDean lost BOTH her in-laws this year in NY nursing homes, instead of mourning with her and listening to her, Cuomo’s disgusting goons smear her. Truly a cowardly disgrace and an embarrassment to NY.”

“I guess when your boss @andrewcuomo is a tone-deaf –hole, it’s pretty easy for @RichAzzopardi to think he should be one to @JaniceDean as well,” retired U.S. Marine Joey Jones wrote.  “No sweat lil fella, the light shines bright on things of this nature. Sleep well!”

A governor’s spokesman saying that a woman is ‘not a credible source’ on the deaths of her own family members would be disgusting even if @JaniceDean were *not* an accomplished, dynamic beacon of love & light, but she also is those things,” columnist and Fox News contributor Kat Timpf tweeted.

Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain and co-host on ABC’s The View slammed Cuomo as an “absolute heartless monster.”

“This is some of the most pathetic trash I’ve ever read,” journalist Emily Domenech tweeted, adding that Dean “is one of the kindest, smartest women I know. I’m so grateful for her mentorship and friendship, and I’m so damn proud of her for giving a voice to families who lost loved ones like she has.”

“Pound sand Cuomo!” she added.
