True to form, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is moving to get maximum political value out of the Wednesday protest that got out of hand, though the 89-year-old Democrat doesn’t seem to grasp what she’s now asking for.

In what would set a disastrous precedent, Speaker Pelosi appealed to Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley to deny the President of the United States access to the nuclear codes — a development China and Russia would find useful should they look to take advantage of the political chaos in America today.

While Pelosi looks to gain the ultimate upper hand in her vendetta against President Trump, her actions also puts at risk 320 million American citizens, and 12 million or so illegal immigrants squatting in the country.

“This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike,” the speaker said in a statement.

The assessment of Trump as unstable being Pelosi’s opinion, but her remarkable actions showcase what Donald Trump has been up against since even before he took office, four long years ago — in effect, the president has been battling an insurgency within the U.S. government, at the very highest levels.

“The situation of this unhinged President could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” Pelosi wrote.

Her posturing being more about destroying Trump once and for all, and with a heavy assist from the corrupt media establishment, hanging his carcass around the neck of the Republican Party.

Democrats have been calling on Vice President Mike Pence and the president’s cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump from office, suggesting that he is no longer fit for office.

Pelosi vowed to move forward with new articles of impeachment if Pence does not act, since their first sham impeachment failed.

This coming after Trump was blamed for the violence that took place at the Capitol on Wednesday, though he told the tens of thousands of supporters who showed up in DC to remain peaceful.

The left’s prescribed narrative of a protest that got out of hand with a smaller faction took to storming the seat of the U.S. government is that it was an insurrection Trump encouraged. An attempted coup.

It was neither.

Trump released a statement Friday acknowledging that his term is coming to an end and assuring the nation there would be “an orderly transition” of power.

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” he said. “I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

But that’s not good enough for Democrats, who pause from lecturing the nation about its rhetoric in an attempt to put its boot on a president they now see as finished.

What they don’t seem to grasp, or care about if they do, is that this posture will only increase the angst of tens of millions of Trump supporters who feel disenfranchised and have lost all faith in the integrity of our elections.

Whether Pelosi and the media arm of the party agree with this or not, they’ll continue to deal with the fallout. Meanwhile, it’s incumbent to ask whether Pelosi is taking out on Trump her anger over protesters breaking into her office and stealing her gavel.
