Tucker: They knew it was coming, why did so few Republicans do anything to stop it?

If Democrats achieve unlimited power, as they’re slated to do, the country should expect at least two years — if not far longer — of far-left policies that’ll entrench Democrat power in perpetuity and wreak havoc to the lives of everyday Americans.

This much is obvious.

What’s not so obvious is Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s contention that if Democrats do indeed achieve unlimited power, much of the blame will lie with congressional Republicans. Take soon-to-be Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

“Last May, McConnell didn’t bother holding hearings on election integrity or mail-in balloting. That might have been nice. No, McConnell was busy attacking police officers and eulogizing George Floyd,” Carlson noted Tuesday.

Floyd was a criminal suspect from Minneapolis who died during apprehension. It was later discovered that his body had been teeming with fatal doses of fentanyl. Because of the supposedly rough way in which he was apprehended, his death was blamed on racism.

“Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, was on the street mouthing Black Lives Matter slogans on camera in a sort of Jane Fonda moment. Meanwhile, two Republican senators called for replacing Columbus Day, a day that celebrates the discovery of this country, with Juneteenth,” Carlson continued.

If Democrats win both Georgia Senate runoffs, they’re not going to be too concerned about Juneteenth. They have much bigger goals in mind, like eliminating the filibuster, adding new states to the union, packing the Supreme Court, and giving citizenship to tens of millions of illegal aliens, now known as their base.”

Of course, Republicans have long known this would happen. The question is, according to Carlson, “why did so few Republicans do anything to stop it?”

Listen:

The remarks above, made on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight, were part of a lengthy monologue in which the FNC host closely scrutinized the Democrat Party’s growing radicalism and slammed Republicans for doing nothing to stop it.

He began the monologue by focusing in on how legitimate questions about potential fraud, impropriety, and malfeasance in the 2020 presidential election have been arbitrarily dismissed using bogus allegations of racism.

He noted that there used to be a time “when Americans expected to learn election results on Election Night” thanks to in-person voting. And justifiably so.

“In-person voting reduces fraud and reducing fraud and the appearance of fraud used to be important to us. We wanted people to believe the results when they came in. We wanted to protect the system that made all of our good things possible. We wanted democracy to continue. But then everything changed,” he said.

“The main driver of that change, they will tell you, was the coronavirus pandemic. It simply became too dangerous to show up in person to vote. But think about that for a second. If you can go to the grocery store — and most people can and do — then you can go to a polling place. There’s no medical reason that you can’t vote in person.”

Listen to the first part of Carlson’s monologue below:

But to merely utter these valid points is now enough to trigger both congressional Democrats and their media sycophants into a “hysterical” rant about racism.” In fact, any attempt to add integrity to America’s elections will trigger the same rant.

Just recently, Georgia senatorial candidate Jon Ossoff, a Democrat, smeared his opponent, incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler, for trying to clean up the state’s voter rolls.

“My opponent … Kelly Loeffler and Georgia Republicans have been filing lawsuit after lawsuit to purge the rolls to make it harder for people to vote. It is an open attack on Black voters in Georgia and it’s a disgrace and it’s an echo of the legacy of Jim Crow,” he said.

That’s a bogus argument, but it doesn’t matter so “long as people keep falling for” this disingenuous rhetoric, according to Carlson.

“Everything Democrats don’t like is Jim Crow. Just in the last year, they’ve told us that in-person voting, the filibuster, even mispronouncing Kamala Harris’ name — a name, by the way, she can’t pronounce herself — are all vestiges of America’s racist history. So what’s the remedy for history this evil? You guessed it: More identity politics,” he said.

Indeed. To hear the left tell it, America itself is racist. The problem, Carlson continued, is that congressional Republicans have mostly bought into this nonsense instead of fighting back against it, lest they too be labeled “racists” — or “kooks.”

“[I]t would be nice if someone disagreed with that claim [that America is racist] because that claim is totally false. It’s poisonous and it’s wrecking what has been, for a couple of hundred years now, a pretty great country. But increasingly, no one pushes back. In fact, a lot of Republicans have been saying the same thing recently,” he said.

Listen to the second part of Carlson’s monologue below:

Republicans should have never accepted the claim that America is racist, that raising legitimate concerns about the 2020 election results is racist, that Floyd’s death was because of racism (versus an overdose), etc.

By accepting these false claims, Republicans only further emboldened the radicalized left, and with the left now on the verge of achieving full power, there will be a catastrophic price to pay.
