Geraldo Rivera earned a torrent of backlash after he once again attacked President Donald Trump for the “propaganda” being fed to his supporters about election fraud.
The Fox News correspondent-at-large has repeatedly called on Trump to throw in the towel and admit defeat in the 2020 presidential race, all while claiming he is his “friend.” He doubled down on his criticism again on Monday, calling out the “whining and complaining” while accusing Trump of needlessly firing-up his base about the election results.
During Fox News’ special coverage Monday of the Senate runoff elections in Georgia, Rivera opined about the “sham” efforts by Republican lawmakers who are planning to object to the Electoral College vote certification set to happen in Congress on Wednesday.
Rivera also declared that he felt “a great sense of pity and sadness” for Trump because of his battle against the results of November’s election and that Democrat Joe Biden could be handed the victory.

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum addressed the ongoing concerns by millions of voters about the integrity of the election and the belief that Biden did not actually win the 2020 race.
Citing an Atlanta Journal-Constitution report, MacCallum noted that “not one person that they’ve talked to on the Republican side believes that Joe Biden won this race.”
“That is a pervasive belief out there. What do you say to all that?” she asked.
“But it’s a belief Martha, based on propaganda,” an exasperated Rivera responded.
“We’ve heard nothing but whining and complaining. What about the courts? Don’t we have courts for a reason in this country?” he continued.
“Every court that has reviewed this matter decided against the Republicans, against President Trump. The High Court of the United States, including three Trump-appointed Associate Justices, have ruled against or declined to take these cases. At what point do we say okay, Basta! Enough!” he exclaimed, repeating the admonition he has used in his previous rants.
“It is really pathetic that this has been dragged on so long,” he added, saying it is “only because of the love people have for President Trump.”
Last month, Rivera unloaded on the “spoiled brats” supporting the president’s ongoing challenge of the election results, venting in a video message posted online about the “fringe characters” the president surrounds himself with, as he bluntly declared that Trump lost the election.

Rivera told MacCallum on Monday that he believes Trump is “a sincere person.”
“I think that he sincerely believes that he was gipped. But it’s one thing to believe, it’s another thing to prove. They have proven nothing!” he argued, adding that lawmakers’ attempts to challenge the votes is nothing but a “spectacle” that will further divide the country.
Rivera’s continued venting about the election being over and his urging for Trump to move on only set-off the president’s supporters. Many Americans do believe there were serious issues with the 2020 election and they are demanding answers, regardless of what media hacks contend.
Conservative author and radio host Todd Starnes was one of many voices criticizing Rivera’s dismissal of millions of voters’ concerns.
What a sad spectacle on Fox News – watching Geraldo’s unhinged diatribe against the president and his supporters. Such anger!

Rivera continued his criticism on his own Twitter account.
The events of this coming week represent the real end of 2020. Will @realDonaldTrump voluntarily leave office when his term expires on January 20th? Is there enough crazy in the White House for them to defy the Constitution and the process of succession? Will they accept reality?

Fox News colleague Greg Gutfeld had some issues with one of Rivera’s latest tweets.

Social media users who are concerned about election integrity let Rivera have it.
Geraldo has managed to make himself a comic figure of zero consequence! https://t.co/RMLL33gGFY

I’m kinda enjoying Geraldo’s panicky meltdown.

@GeraldoRivera he should stop saying he’s a good friend of the president. With a friend like Geraldo, who needs enemies.

If this was the other way around the country would be on fire. We’re sick of the bullshit and people like you telling us to shut up. Too bad if our voice irritates you

It’s ego. He fancies himself the wise and trusted adviser but his advice is crappy and he’s being ignored so he’s throwing a fit.
