Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis cleverly refused to take the bait from a reporter who asked him if he accepts Joe Biden as president-elect.
“It’s not for me to say,” DeSantis replied, in dropping what might amount to a rhetorical truth bomb.
“Here’s what I would say,” he continued. “Obviously, we did our thing in Florida. The [Electoral] College voted… But I can tell you, I think a lot of the frustration for folks that supported the president was we were four years with people not accepting him. I mean, Hillary, the last week of the election, was saying Putin stole it.”
As a thought experiment, can you imagine virtually any reporter in 2016 [or 2020, if things change] asking a Democrat politician such a question in the case of President Trump? DeSantis was reminding the media that so-called journalists spent about four years pushing a fake conspiracy theory about collusion from Russia that supposedly enabled a Trump victory.
After a narrow win in 2018, Republican DeSantis has emerged as one of the best governors in America.
Despite the fear-mongering and distortions from the corporate media, the former U.S. Navy lawyer and congressman, has effectively balanced public health with the economic and psychological needs of his constituents during COVID-19. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has also followed the same general philosophy.
While it may be an uphill climb, the Trump campaign still has legal options to challenge the election outcome, whether in court or in Congress, and that may have figured into DeSantis’ response.
Watch the clip below that has gone viral on social media:

DeSantis has also won praise for addressing persistent issues in the sketchy way that Broward County and Palm Beach County handled past elections.
If Georgia had a Republican governor like Ron DeSantis, Trump would’ve gotten a honest count. https://t.co/tp5VcgHJyV

Easily outraged left-wing Twitter was very unhappy with the governor’s response about Biden. But DeSantis has his fans. Here is a sample:

Gov DiSantis is a really smart politician. I think he’ll be President DiSantis in four years. Maybe 8.
